Someone explored Infotron deeply enough to discover a few easter eggs in the level designs, including (apparently) my own signature:
It took real work to do this! It’s not possible to see portions of levels that are “out of bounds” in the game itself. Whoever did the work had to reverse engineer the level format, write code to fully render each level, and then actually examine each image in detail. That’s quite some effort for a (long-forgotten?) 25-year-old shareware game.

Some reader progress, channels are now working! I'm not ready to change my reading habits just yet though, so my channel list still allows me to choose "all feeds". I think to change the way I read I need to add a few more features. The first is some sort of notification that a channel has new items, otherwise I'll just end up not checking some low volume channels.
The other thing I really want to add is setting a channel per author for multi-author feeds. There are two feeds I have in mind for this, the facebook and twitter atom feeds generated by Ryan's amazing services.
The last screen shot is of a small change I'm glad to see working, which is picking up when an item is being displayed from a feed on a domain that doesn't match the author. It now adds a little "via" link which helps when no other details of the feed are displayed.

It’s called Kimberlite. Our mission is to give podcasters superpowers. We’re starting with a power that we’ve always wanted for ourselves: the ability to ask fans for money, and collect it, without making anybody jump through hoops. "text": "I am not ashamed to admit that I love podcasts. In the early 2000s, blogs were the hot thing: an open publishing medium that allowed people to exchange ideas, converse, and share. Since then, blogs have faded, as increasingly toxic social media walled gardens have moved people off the open web. It\u2019s a shame, really. I\u2019m hopeful that blogs will rise again, but it\u2019s going to take time.Podcasts, on the other hand, have only grown in popularity, and are still blissfully free of central control from creepy ad-driven social media giants. We are in the golden age of podcasting!I\u2019ve had a personal microcast for a while now, and I\u2019ve been pretty undisciplined about publishing it. Still, it has been a fun exercise, and I plan to keep at it for years to come.Today, however, I\u2019m excited to announce a new podcast project: Two Dads Talking. TDT is a longer form podcast featuring myself and my co-host Eddie Hinkle. Eddie and I have known each other for a few years now through the IndieWeb community, and we\u2019ve found that we both have a lot in common, but also a significant amount of differences. This podcast is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, and for our listeners to join us in that discovery.Eddie and I are both parents, though at very different life stages, and both are people of faith, and technologists. This short statement by Micah Cohen, from a recent episode of the FiveThirtyEight Politics Podcast, caught my ear:
We wrapped up the live blog at 2:30AM and before we wrapped it up I was looking at [newspaper] headlines.
Almost all of them had some version of “Split Decision”… which is stupid, really.
People are confusing inputs and outputs. The input was not a split decision: where the American people are at at this moment is super clear. The output? Sure, it’s split. But that’s not the same thing.
Clearly, the inputs were strongly pro-Democrat. I still think “Split Decision” is a good description in the sense that Bill Kristol used it: it wasn’t a good night for Republicans, but neither was it an obvious repudiation of Trump and Trumpism. In that sense, I remain disappointed by the midterms. Sure, I didn’t really think that America would “rise up as one” against Trump… but I certainly hoped for it.

It’s also a reminder that federated social networking can sometimes be (unavoidably) complicated:
Your custom domain on Micro.blog can now be ActivityPub-compatible, so that you can follow and reply to Mastodon users directly on Micro.blog. This also means someone can follow your blog posts by adding @you@yourdomain.com on Mastodon. (This username is configurable. Mine is @manton@manton.org.)
I wonder how many users will fully understand this and make use of it?
