        "text": "When I student taught I worked with a wonderful group of children in Waterbury, CT in a transitional first grade. The class provided more sheltered instruction for students, many learning English, who did not meet Kindergarten readiness benchmarks...after Kindergarten.I had them write poems about carnivals, rain, and frogs. The students found words by writing with their senses. Explaining what you ss, hear, feel, and touch can provide a rpadmap for any writer stuck on. getting started.I teach the same lesson in college. Like metaphors, writing with the senses belongs in every author's toolbox so they can reach in a grasp on to a concrete idea.Found an easy explainable lesson plan in the article Teaching Descriptive Writing through Visualization and the Five Senses by Katherine Carter",
