I was trying to help a friend with some math-related courses and I felt mad bad because if she didn't explain the math, I couldn't understand what was going on (I'm bad at math).
Strongly endorsing this!
One of my biggest soapboxes is that we should teach programming in tandem with algebra.
They're such complimentary skills, and learning them together helps make learning...
