As a company, deeply invested in the well-being of your community, if your devrel folks are telling you they are no longer comfortable defending (or even representing) you in public, and this doesn't make all kinds of 🚨alarms🚨 go off with leadership — you are beyond saving…
But the most important reason is that I no longer feel like I am capable of representing GitHub's interests as a developer advocate.

Tomorrow at 12 PM Eastern/ 9 AM Pacific I’ll be be hosting a Connected Courses discussion that will explore the IndieWeb movement as a people-centered response to the corporate web. How do core IndieWeb principles such as owning your content, remaining better connected, and redefining control online intersect with the values of connected learning? Take a bit of time tomorrow and join myself, Mikhail GershovichBen WerdmullerErin Jo Richey, and Simon Thomson to find out more.

I particularly love how they all underline the humanity that should and does underlie the web. This is certainly a classic for the area of IndieWeb and education. I’m not sure how I hadn’t seen this before.

[Withknown is] the posterchild of the IndieWeb.

I’ll agree that it is pretty darn awesome! Some slight rephrasings from Ben in the video that I thought were spot on: IndieWeb: allowing people to connect online without caring about what platforms or services they’re using. IndieWeb puts the learner first. The LMS, which primarily serves an administrative function, should not be the center of the process.

I could easily listen to this daily podcast if it were nothing more than fake ad reads making fun of political debates. This shit is hilarious! 👏

Which #presidential candidate proposes outlawing "planned obsolescence" in order to cut down on unnecessary waste and CO2, to address #ClimateCrisis and #environment?
Which #presidential candidate proposes outlawing unsolicited advertising in the mail in order to cut down on waste and CO2, and reduce logging, to address #ClimateCrisis and #environment? This seems an easy one: 99% of it goes straight into the trash.
I have a perfectly fine color laser printer. Except that some update broke something, and now it's printing compressed Postscript in clear text (or something) about half of the time. And I can't fix it because @HP has removed drivers from their site, and does not respond to me.

V excited about today’s newsletter, mostly bc when I heard Singapore was making fake news illegal, my thought was “good in theory, bad in practice, but wonder what Casey would say about it.” Also debuts the phrase “sniveling mosh pit of baby clowns.“ getrevue.co/profile/caseyn…
