The 5yo salmon junkie, offering unsolicited culinary feedack at dinner: “This salmon burger is thumbs sideways. It isn’t... I mean, it *is* the worst salmon, but it is not the worst food.”
Waiting for my flight home from IWC SF, the last Indiewebcamp of 2019. There were 13 this year, one online only. I participated in 12 of them, 6 in person. Here’s to more in 2020. (di5.us/t/s7)

I should probably finish the demo for the Vouch tool first but I REALLY want to begin looking into this Akismet for Abuse (that’s the operative name) tool. My idea for it is a bit of what I’ve seen so far in solutions from other people. Someone (`Client… v2.jacky.wtf//post/5b87c448…

If we can’t decide, let alone propose, a DRAFT of a solution for handling foreign agents into a community in a semi-automated protected manner, then there’s almost no point of making it into a problem - it’s just noise.

I like the idea of the microformats web extension. I suspect it could do with an update to microformats v2 though. The idea of being able to parse a page and add contact information or events directly to my address books or calendars is pretty awesome.

I could also appreciate it parsing a page and allowing me to use an h-card to quickly create a follow post and automatically add a page’s feed to my feed reader.

This is the 3rd time I've heard about RSS coming back in as many days. @Weegee highlights a fantastic reason why using a feed reader can be important and more healthy than relying on the social aggregation algorithms [more...] boffosocko.com/2019/12/08/pub…
Nah, fuck it. I’m on the side of restorative justice and healing and I don’t see that coming off strongly from either side. If someone doesn’t know something, I’ll link them and document said occurrence. If they repeat, I’ll link once more. After that… v2.jacky.wtf//post/c17b1192…

Thanks to a quick tip and advice from @adactio, I was able to improve my offline support here @IndieWebCamp SF in the last 15 minutes!

I started with the script for listing offline cache available pages from https://clearleft.com/offline, stripped it down a bit, and filtered for / or .html files.

Now when you load my site when offline, you’ll see what pages you have cached and can view while offline!
We were promised that USB-C would solve all our connectivity problems.

Instead, I have two USB-C ports on this laptop, only one of which is Thunderbolt, which is worse because they look identical but act different. Also apparently only some USB-C cables support Thunderbolt too.

Instead of scrambling to figure out which celebrity is going to satisfy the "rule of threes" can we please just like... realize that people die all the time and then celebrate the lives of the ones we care about?
