A year and decade are arbitrary boundaries, yet this change feels different than others. Different from even a month ago. December went somewhat as expected, yet unexpectedly challenging in a couple of big ways.
After one last big push of work, I was going to rest, reflect, and recover from the year. Instead, the stresses of unexpected home repairs emptied emotional reserves already drained from months of pushing hard, harming my judgment, undermining empathy, leading me to make more mistakes, and likely causing (or perhaps accelerating an inevitable) break. Recovery and regaining my footing became my focus.
This month, year, and decade is still just beginning, and even if arbitrary, perhaps that beginning is an opportunity to refocus, keep giving myself and others time & space to heal, while rebuilding & strengthening in other ways.
The shedding I mentioned last month, still in-progress. The #transformation, accelerating in other ways. #Growth from being outside my comfort zone has shifted into growth from recovery. Still embracing #loving (to others’s capacity to receive) & #friendships into this year.

I spent a bunch of time trying to connect my new washer and dryer to my home Wi-Fi so I could control them from my phone but never succeeded. I now realize it was lunacy for me to ever think that using this functionality was a good idea.

"html": "<h3>A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood\u2606\u2606\u2606\u2606\u2606</h3>\n<p>I was a bit skeptical as this movie started because it\u2019s about the journalist\u2019s awakening and I wasn\u2019t sure I was going to like yet another story about a middle-aged white man\u2019s existential crisis. But Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers won me over, much as Mr. Rogers won the journalist over. The message of this movie is so needed in today\u2019s troubled times.</p>\n<p>At the Concord Regal with Ann, Pat, and Al</p>\n<h3>Dark Waters\u2606\u2606\u2606\u2606</h3>\n<p>We\u2019re still living with the impacts of the chemicals that Dupont (and other companies) have used in products like Teflon. I found this movie scary and depressing. I would have rated it higher but the writing of Anne Hathaway\u2019s character is lazy and stereotypical. She plays Mark Ruffalo\u2019s wife and alternates between being mad at him for being obsessed with this case and asking others not to be mad at him for the same thing.</p>\n<p>At the Concord Regal with Pat and Al</p>\n<h3>Tell Me Who I Am\u2606\u2606\u2606\u2606</h3>\n<p>Fascinating story of identical twin brothers and how their relationship changes when one of them loses his memory in a motorcycle accident. The brother with memory loss believes everything his brother tells him but is hurt and angry when he finds out that his brother lied by omission about the nature of their childhood. There is a lot of build up to the big reveal but by the time it comes, much of the narrative tension has already been released and so it feels a bit anti-climatic.</p>\n<p>On Netflix with Mom and Dad</p>\n<h3>Bombshell\u2606\u2606\u2606\u2606</h3>\n<p>Margot Robbie is wonderful as an intern at Fox News\u2013she made me cry in one scene late in the movie. Charlize Theron is great as Megyn Kelly while Nicole Kidman is a bit odd as Gretchen Carlson. Fairly straight-forward narrative about the downfall of Roger Ailes due to his serial sexual harassment of women in the organization.</p>\n<p>At the Ocala Regal with Mom and Dad</p>",
