By transculturation I mean the complex combination of synchronizing and synthesizing processes that adopt and adapt, meld and blend, combine and fuse diverse cultural elements in somewhat new cultural expressions in innovative and inventive ways

In the first 2 months of 2020, Bloomberg's campaign has spent nearly 3x the NEA budget for 2020. Bloomberg 450M npr.org/2020/02/21/808… NEA budget 162M arts.gov/open-governmen… Hey @MikeBloomberg, how about funding the arts instead? Just 1/3 of your campaign budget would be 👍🏼
My #edtechchat tl;dr Gender inequality exists in tech. yes competition shows learning. Competition in learning and tech rooted in deeply sexist discourses. There are great positives to technology events but let's root them in feminist pedagogies (quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/15Enfq)
tech is #literacies , strive to create a community of readers and writers who love to push each other in their multi-modal composition whether physical or purely digital. Give kids the space and irl to finish sentence "My url is" edtechchat (quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/1q3NTo)

we can draw on feminist pedagogies to fundamentally rethink hackathons and tech competitions so they are built, not thinking on gender, people are getting sidetracked by false binaries, but on principles of cooperation over competition #edtechchat (quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/2drFNB)

I have been to two @IndieWebCamp events this month. One in Ghana and one in Austin (thank you remote) we don't have a competition but we set personal goals on our hack day. Make it about growth not winning. #edtechchat (quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/2g6fP9)

Subscribing to @tryscroll is one of the biggest no-brainers on the web right now. Getting to read great publications like The Atlantic, The Verge, Slate, and many more ad-free with a Netflix-like monthly subscription of just a few dollars? Awesome sauce!

So recently, I’ve finished all of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures. Like the anime. I want to read the manga so bad and I think I will from the beginning because this anime is probably one of those closet amazing ones that I don’t hear a lot about. Granted, I only hear about more recent ones but like the story and plot development was so great, I was too hungry for me. I was watching that in transit (plane, bus and train) and as I was washing laundry or cooking. The resolve and power of generational determination is amazingly depicted in this show.
