This is a weird thing to be nostalgic for but here I am.
Another fantastic photo of Taco Bell in the 1990s, before the disease of modernism
There are systems of division, dominance, extraction, & growth, and systems of solidarity, community, stewardship, & sustainability.

Each has metaphors & narratives, in everyday language & framing.

Which systems shape your thoughts, words, and actions?

Nuance in the press is possible even in 2020: Slate writes: "The Apple-Google Contact Tracing System Won’t Work. It Still Deserves Praise" slate.com/technology/202…
Spent a few hours researching @polymer LitElement today. It's been on my todo list for ages. This is a REVELATION. It takes *everything* that's great about Web Components, and makes them 10 times better. Essentially, for most things most of time, You. Don’t. Need. React. !!!

Finally got to a good spot with Animal Crossing where I’m just running around and collecting weeds to sell. Still living in the tent lol.

Looks like Senegal is doing amazing but it’s being unreported. For reasons.

I just had Black Lagoon pop up in my “anime to watch” list. Anyone got feedback on it - I like the art of it and the plot doesn’t seem too wild?

Side note: I need to make a personal ranking of anime/TV on my site so I don’t have to keep it in my head lol

Rawr! A three-day weekend means a second chance at eternal Caturday!

I’m very interested in seeing this. I obviously have the thoughts and feels but tbh, I’d ideally want this to come from someone OUTSIDE of the industry https://twitter.com/_tessr/status/1263966700728389633

First quarantine haircut. About two months overdue. Definitely turned out lopsided so I'm styling it like this instead. #selfie

Anyone who knows me knows that I approach Twitter-the-company with extreme skepticism and wariness. But those headlines about "50% of covid tweets are from bots" are irresponsible journalism based on flimsy research. This thread from Twitter's head of site integrity is good.
We've seen no evidence to support the claim that "nearly half of the accounts Tweeting about #COVID19 are likely bots.” 🧵 with a few thoughts on the subject... npr.o...

I don’t think I’ve had anything to drink (in terms of alcohol) in like a month now? Like I haven’t yearned for it (last thing I had was Barbancourt). Going to see how long I can keep this up, lol. No carnivals to interfere with it.

this is why we can’t have nice things lol https://twitter.com/daniamluc/status/1264679042449649666

Appreciate Twitter reminding who to re-add to the block-list (not everyone here just one of the protected among PoC in the React community). I should have exported it when I made my new account.

So, lol. My hair manages to break picks a lot. I finally dropped some money on a higher quality pick and this thing does NOT bend. It’s like made out of an adamantium and vibranium alloy, lol.

Languages that enable documentation to be embedded are top-tier and save SO MUCH TIME. One of my gripes with JavaScript is that it’s mad work to match code to the current version for docs because of a lack of uniformity. Python, Rust and Elixir do SUCH a good job at this.
