Dear @newegg, I am placing one order, and in response, between you and @AmexBusiness, I have received 8 e-mail messages about that order today. I know there will be more coming with various status updates. Do you think that's enough? What about 80, or 800 instead?
Is there a programming language that preconfigures logging in some sensible way? IMHO creating logging infrastructure has cost me more hours of my life than the most verbose language could ever cost me over a really concise one. #MisguidedDiscussion
So... it seems like a lot of ways that medical offices are adapting for covid is reliant on having your own car. Drive-up testing, having people wait in the parking lot rather than waiting rooms. Are we going to see a negative health effect on people like me without cars?
I loved this article by @gkemmey. It shows that—gasp shock—building frontend smarts like restoring infinite pagination scroll positions with nothing but Rails, Turbolinks, and a little elbow grease is totally doable. So weird that was even controversial! blog.graykemmey.com/2020/07/07/pag…
Oh, google calendar, a semicolon is a perfectly tolerable separator between RFC5322 addresses, despite it not being in the RFC. Why are you hating on folks who use Exchange like that?

OK I just woke up from a dream where I was in a makeshift backyard-sized cage built out of bungee cords holding onto a mattess and trying not to die as numerous tornadoes came hurtling through the land. 🌪 🌪 🌪 🌪 🌪 I'm just gonna assume that's my subconscious freaking out. 😱

Morning writing specs and code for dynamically generated GraphQL schemas to manage an ever growing estate of micro services... whew, and it's only just lunchtime.

Apple about to make a wave of obsolete machines and people are going to be like “it’s necessary!”. eWaste for capitalism. https://twitter.com/philshapiro/status/1279634794775752704

I really want something that I can use to manage the PDFs, ePubs and Mobi files I have on my computer. I’m going to give Calibre another look but that UI is intolerable, man. I don’t need it to buy books or papers for me; just to help organize the ones I already have.
