There are a LOT of people rely on ONLY PUA, meaning that $2400 per month is the only checks they are getting. Cutting it to $200 per week, as proposed, will mean people will be paying their bills on $800 per month? Coolcool. Very practical.
The lede is getting buried on the GOP plan for UI- under their proposal, starting in October, extra UI benefits will count as income towards other social safety net programs. That means people might lose eligibility for Medicaid and SNAP & not have enough for food or health care.
