We were not designed to have this many eyeballs on us. But these platforms will bend us. https://twitter.com/noname/status/1293052838923264003 Tbh, if follow counts were disabled (or mutual only) and mutual-only replies the default, Twitterās celebrity engine would break and lean towards more natural humane lenses so quickly.

Why do we strongly encourage new developers to do things that are optimized for company interest and not for maintainability of the things theyāll be responsible for years?
I almost livestreamed today but Iāve been sitting at my patio with my laptop and books and itās just such a nice day - I have no reason to be inside.

One thing that irks me every time that decentralized networks try to tout themselves as āsolutionsā for the ādeveloping worldā (outside of their savior complex of sorts) is the notion that by using it, everyone will automatically be able to connect to things. Peer networking pushes a bit beyond the software stack - thereās actual physical infrastructure thatās required (almost always on access points to do the initial seeding for people) and it implies a sense of āstabilityā thatās not implied in that part.
