I honestly cannot fathom how anyone can *not* be voting for Biden at this point. It’s like saying you watched Back to the Future Part II and you’re really jazzed to live in Biff World. Also staying plugged into The Matrix under Agent control is totally awesome. Go Palpatine! 🤪
For my birthday, Kanye got me the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime. A special surprise from heaven. A hologram of my dad. ✨🤍 It is so lifelike! We watched it over and over, filled with emotion.
I really do not understand editing on tiktok, it crashed on me three times, but I did get a new planner, here is an unboxing, you are welcome.

RSVPed Attending IndieWebCamp East 2020 pre-camp preparation

November 10, 2020 at 05:00PM - November 10, 2020 at 06:00PM

  • Are you new to the IndieWeb? (Hello and welcome if you are!)
  • Are you planning on attending IndieWebCamp East 2020 and aren't sure what to expect?
  • Not sure how to access, set up, or use any of the common community tools like chat, the IndieWeb Wiki, or Etherpad?
  • Do you have questions about brainstorming a potential session and how to facilitate it?

We'll do a quick overview of how camp works and what to expect. We'll provide a walk through of all the common technologies and some of the community cultural norms around using them so that when camp starts on Saturday morning, you'll feel more comfortable and be prepared and ready to go to have two fun and productive days of improving your website.

Users of all levels of ability are encouraged to attend this session. Bring all your camp-related questions and we'll do our best to answer them.

There's no need to RSVP for this session. It's completely acceptable to just show up at the appointed time.

I’ll be hosting this, so I’ll definitely be there!

Me reviewing code I wrote more than 6 months ago:

“The fix will benefit all OSes”

This is something a lot of proprietary shops can’t say when they push a fix for their platforms. Eager to get this update! https://twitter.com/thepine64/status/1321848516134768641

Make it make sense. Does this country have an official religion or not? Lol.

I think in 2021, I’m going to listen more E-40. I really don’t know shit about Bay Area (or just West Coast, but specifically Bay Area) artists outside of the fact that I tried to start shit with G-Eazy because I can’t stand him, lol.

The fact that this has to be something surfaced during the anti-trust suit and not something Apple would brag about is something to keep an eye on. I’m curious about this and it’ll make sense with deepening Siri’s usefulness https://www.ft.com/content/fd311801-e863-41fe-82cf-3d98c4c47e26

I’ve been making some improvements to my site’s interface. I’ve already moved to use Granary to generate feeds for my site. I did say that I was taking them out but I do think I’ll need to have them inbuilt if I want to do netcast hosting from my own site.

I want to work on hardware and tech around reading - I’ve spent the last two years aiming to get better at anything via reading (then doing, ofc) and it’s helped. But the fact that there’s no affordable hardware for this outside of Amazon/ICE that’s not so encumbered is so annoying. I almost wonder if it’s just better using your phone to read.

Building on my last “anti-pattern” comment, blindly reaching for an SPA-style architecture for everything is also an anti-pattern. Use the right architecture for the right job—and in many cases, that’s good ol’ server rendering + progressive enhancement with “reactive” addons.

Okay, so the SPA pattern for building websites has some issues. What's the alternative future? Here are a few: macwright.com/2020/10/28/if-…
Earlier this evening I bought a copy of Neale & Kelly's brand new book "Songlines: The Power and Promise" (First Knowledges), so obviously I can't wait for this exhibition to come to the US! Perhaps @LACMA might pick it up? boffosocko.com/2020/10/28/557… https://t.co/ROmrh7snXw

Preach! Component libraries not consumable via native browser technology are rapidly becoming an anti-pattern. If you need to rewrite all your components because a third-party changed their API, you’re doing it wrong.
Still not sold on Web Components? Element UI was built exclusively for Vue and, when Vue 3 was released, the entire project needed to be refactored/rewritten. With Web ...
When I’m driving I like to save time by swerving so only half of my car goes over the speed bump! Just a hot tip for all you roadsters out there
I'm getting much faster at video editing. At first working in Premiere was a big chore, and it took forever to edit anything. Now that I've learned many shortcuts and finding faster ways to edit, I'm moving much faster. Gotta keep going so I can create it all!
I own a signed copy of Greenwald's book. It's turning out that there's "Nowhere to Hide" from the statute of limitations running out on respecting him as a journalist.
Congratulations to a lot of good reporters at the Intercept, who have been unfairly tainted by Glenn Greenwald simply making shit up with impunity for too long.
These blackmail spam emails appear to have been updated for 2020, and now specifically mention Zoom and Jeffrey Toobin.
Finally, a build speed comparison between a number of static site generators that mirrors what I’ve experienced in the real world (Only one I haven’t used personally is Nuxt.) I def got a kick out of the author’s surprise at how fast Jekyll actually is. css-tricks.com/comparing-stat…
