That said, I do think that many early detractors are missing that the M1 isnât really the same thing as a typical Intel chip. Completely different approach, with many more specialized hardware accelerators. The old clock / core comparison wonât work. Gotta benchmark.

I've been spending a chunk of change every month on a grab bag of cloud VMs for personal use.
I also pay for a fast fiber connection through a great local ISP.
I could buy a new M1-powered Mac mini and use *that* as a server instead of VMs, saving $$$ in the long run.

When will people stop being surprised that Google torpedoes its services? Outrage is no longer a logical response. Same with Netflixâs approach to its original content. They show you who they are with every action. I donât get angry, I just temper my trust and expectations. đ€·đ»ââïž

I honestly feared Trump was going to win reelection, and then his disastrous first debate performance happened and in my mind that was the moment the tides shifted. I don't know if polling after the fact reflects that notion, but I sure feel like Biden's momentum grew big time.
