A little update on my iPad situation: turns out one of the two card reader accessories I was using is garbage. If I use the one that works consistently, I don't experience any data loss even with 10+ GB video files. Yay!
Still can't upload to YouTube in iPad Safari though. Nay.

son, I just realized that pull requests can store information in the Git tree themselves (like literally). this needs to be used more (maybe a better interface) to really bring back the decentralization that Git could have had
