I’ve thought a lot about this. Never say never, but I emphatically choose not to pursue strings-attached funding of any kind for open source work I do. Sponsorship sure—whether that's individual or corporate—but that would have no undue influence on the direction of the projects.
Not sure how I feel about all these open source projects taking VC money. At some point, they’ll need to make that money back… Doesn’t feel like the spirit of open...
