it took me 16 years of working to make $25/hr and I gotta say... I hope for this kind of financial security for other people, whatever it looks like for you. I can spend money on things like travel and nice sweaters and still save 59% of my income.
The importance of this project can't be overstated. While modern Ruby performance is actually great for most users most of the time, there are still "at scale" use cases which are challenging. Getting even a 10% bump, let alone 20% or 30%, is monumental. ⚡️
