Four albums I was obsessed with in high school.

Some free marketing slogans for Lyft: “Lyft: five 9’s of safety-critical reliability!” “.0002%: It’s as if you had to fear for your life and incur serious harm 7 minutes and 22 seconds every year just doing everyday tasks!”
Touch of Evil ain’t got nothin on this
If you haven't yet seen the 'impossible' crane shot from Soy Cuba (1964), prepare to have your day made.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't at all impressed by the Uncharted trailer. It's been a while since I played the games (aka the first three back when I had a PlayStation 3), but I have a very visceral sense of what the games (which I love!) are about. Trailer didn't feel right at all. 😕

While 1701-D has parents caring for children, it has no children caring for parents, or extended families. I’d like to see non-nuclear families in future starships, tbh. It would be fun. #StarTrek
In the TNG episode, Clues, I find it difficult to believe that everyone on board consented to synaptic surgery by the Paxans. Like the children, for example. So Captain Picard allowed some members of his crew to be memory raped.
Cool writing prompt. Write a future where humans return to earth inhabited by these creatures: vox.com/down-to-earth/… or tell the story of one of these future animals
free idea for swc: AOT-compiled JS-to-Wasm plugins for tha masses :)
I kinda worry that de-opting back into JS AST will defeat a significant part of the performance wins. You know how users will pile on JS plugins - and if they can be writ...
On TNG, there’s also an ep where Troi “loses” her empathic sense. She has a strong reaction; people seem like cardboard cutouts to her. Later, they show Troi using the holodeck to train for command. Wouldn’t the holodeck be excruciating to her, like a really bad video game?
Tonight, I drink to Colin Robinson.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what it would be like to use a Mac with ProMotion. That sweet, sweet 120Hz refresh rate is one of the things I love most about my iPad Pro. But part of that magic is the tactile feel you get as you're using the touchscreen.
"Many people want to boil down this to just 'crazy libs' obsessed with 'cancel culture' who want to harm Chappelle, but that could not be further from the truth. Within the Trans* team there is no desire to 'destroy Netflix' or cancel Dave.'" washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/…
When people start admitting that they don't know, but will try to find out, we might actually get somewhere. Bravo @twitter . protocol.com/policy/twitter…
Over 50 hours post-jab and no side-effects. Was a bit more tired last night, but nothing unusual, slept in today just in case. Now the 12 days wait til “fully vaccinated”.
I got vaccinated
No one to see, nowhere to go
I got #JNJ vaccinated

Just drive across the Bay Bridge
And guide me to a lane
Asking, asking, asking
Confirming my consent
I opened up my car door
I rolled up my left sleeve
Oh, jab, oh oh oh oooh!

Are there other words like:
"basically"
"just"
"simply"
used in explanations/instructions to obscure actual complexity or difficulty?

Is there a name for such words?

They often shame the reader as a side-effect (if it’s not easy, it must be my fault)
