It’s really a shame to see the outrageous handling of #TwitterLayoffs. As seems typical these days, on the spectrum of “smart, compassionate” to “short-sided, assholic”, Elon swung way to the latter. Hey, maybe soon Parag *won’t* be worst Twitter CEO ever anymore! 😂
I want to be clear because I keep seeing this misconception: while this software is optimized for small groups of friends, you can still talk to everyone on federated social media (hundreds of thousands of people and growing).

Don’t expect to find a “Twitter replacement.” You don’t need one. The number of people you actually interact with and read on Twitter is tiny. Find smaller spaces to connect more closely. Like blogs!

The e*on fan boys acting as though 50% layoffs aren’t disruptive or newsworthy. 😬 Mass Layoffs at factories make headline front page news in any town I have lived in. Even early retirement buyouts at Intel are front page news. This would be a big shock anywhere, not just twitter
