A corporate AMEX acct has a max length of 20 chars for the street address, and no second line. Between a 4-digit street number and "Apt XXX", that leaves only 8 left for the street name and type.
So cross your fingers that USPS figures out this abbreviated street name I guess.
Foreword
The W3C recently elected a Board of Directors (BoD) for the new W3C Legal Entity. Several new board members are currently on the W3C Advisory Board (AB) and they decided to step down from the AB to focus on the BoD. The W3C is holding a special election for the remaining 6-18 months of the terms of those four AB seats. This blog post is an extended version of my personal nomination statement for that election.

Hi, I’m Tantek Çelik and I’m running for the W3C Advisory Board (AB) to help it reboot W3C as a community-led, values-driven, and more effective organization. I have been participating in and contributing to W3C groups and specifications for over 24 years.

I am Mozilla’s Advisory Committee (AC) representative and have previously served on the AB for several terms, starting in 2013. In the early years I helped lead the movement to offer open licensing of W3C standards, and make it more responsive to the needs of independent websites and open source implementers. In my most recent term I led the AB’s Priority Project for an updated W3C Vision. I set the example of a consensus-based work-mode of summarizing & providing granular proposed resolutions to issues, presenting these to the AB at the August 2022 Berlin meeting, and making edits to the W3C Vision according to consensus.

I co-chaired the W3C Social Web Working Group that produced several widely interoperably deployed Social Web Standards, most notably the ActivityPub specification, which has received renewed attention as the technology behind Mastodon and other implementations growing an open decentralized alternative to proprietary social media networks such as Twitter. ActivityPub was but one of seven W3C Recommendations produced by the Social Web Working Group, six of which are widely adopted by implementations & their users, five of those with still functional test suites today, almost five years later.

Most recently, I’ve focused on the efforts to clarify and operationalize W3C’s core values, and campaigned to add Sustainability to W3C’s Horizontal Reviews in alignment with the TAG’s Ethical Web Principles. I established the Sustainability Community Group and helped organize interested participants at TPAC 2022 into asynchronous work areas.

The next 6-18 months of the Advisory Board are going to be a critical transition period, and will require experienced AB members to actively work in coordination with the TAG and the Board of Directors to establish new models and procedures for sustainable community-driven leadership and governance of W3C.

I have Mozilla’s financial support to spend my time pursuing these goals, and ask for your support to build the broad consensus required to achieve them.

You can follow my posts directly from my tantek.com feed or from Mastodon with @tantek.com@tantek.com.

If you have any questions or want to chat about the W3C Advisory Board, Values & Vision, or anything else W3C related, please reach out by email: tantek at mozilla.com. This is another prime example of of #Russian #disinfo works.
It involves both misdirection and lies (#Putin invaded to denazify) and using images out of or missing contexts.
Read this investigative report about #NAFO. You’ll see that this is an SBU-backed fascist troll network founded by an anti-Semite who literally glorifies Hitler 🤦...

If I was @elonmusk the way to monetize @Twitter subscription is easy.
Power users.
Fix Tweetdeck.
Make a mobile version.
Charge as much as you want.

It’s snowing outside. I decide to listen to A Charlie Brown Christmas. A bit early, but still: snow!
At the same time, I’m playing with GPT-3’s new text-davinci-003
model. It’s impressive.
A couple weeks ago, Adam and I tried to get GPT-3 to spit out chord progressions. Today’s updated GPT-3 seems pretty good: sure, some of my prompts result in sonic (or textual) mayhem, but many more result in ii-V-I and other legible changes.
I punch in an oddball prompt:
Give me the chords to a straight-ahead jazz reharmonization of Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No. 1. A simple list will do.
GPT-3 replies:
Ebmaj7 - Bbmaj7 - Ebmaj7 - Bbmaj7 - Cm7 - Fm7 - Gm7 - Bb7 - Eb7 - F7
Okay, those first repeating chords make some sense; I can tack a melody to that. The next are a bit mysterious, but I give it a go and eventually find a way to make them fit. I toy with chromatic approaches while Vince Guaraldi sinks in and somehow end up with… well, “Gymnopedie No. GPT-3” I suppose.

In the archeological anthropy department of #NAFO our latest dig has found one of the earliest, yet nerdiest, form of bonking in human history.
Scientists say this discovery could push the Cambrian Explosion back days.
Nods. One Usenet group I was part of fended off trolls for years by taking troll posts and mocking them as part of a massive role-play party.

This is a good example of out of context #disinfo.
Here #Russia took images from a training guide and spun a new story.
#NAFO
Actually we are again seeing Russian or pro-Russian lies. The four photos are related to Ukrainian medical training center called 44Center. Their webpages: 44center.com ...
