In the link directly above, the farmer claims he was told Project 2025 wasn\u2019t actually Trump\u2019s platform. And in the quoted article, the woman says she didn\u2019t know Trump planed on conducting raids.</p>\n\n<p>Guess what? <strong>I believe them!</strong> And while I won\u2019t lose any sleep over them being ridiculed online for their horrible taste in <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/tag/politics\">#politics</a>, I do think <em>we should be putting the vast majority of our efforts</em> into combatting this scourge of misinformation and disinformation that caused Kamala Harris to lose the 2024 election. Yes, that is my contention: her loss was <em>almost entirely due</em> to <strong>hundreds of millions of Americans being repeatedly and outrageously lied to</strong>. I\u2019m not implying I think the Trumpy MAGA base is misinformed (they\u2019re truly the bad guys), but I\u2019m saying the people who are considered \u201cmoderate\u201d or not super engaged in politics at all got fed a steaming pile of horseshit.</p>\n\n<p>If the Democratic Party and progressive activists/journalists/policy-makers can\u2019t get a real and lasting handle on this war before the next national election, I fear it may be too late to turn this ship around. <strong>The window of positive change is narrowing rapidly.</strong> And the time to act was yesterday.</p>",

And let me tell you: the top stories being covered by <strong>DNN</strong> (Daddy News Network) these days are <strong>friggin\u2019 nuts</strong>. \ud83d\ude35\u200d\ud83d\udcab</p>\n\n<p>Every time I\u2019m having to catch my teen up on a mere fraction of what\u2019s been going on in the past ~12 days, it\u2019s hard for me to believe the words spilling out of my mouth. It all sounds <em>batshit crazy</em>. I feel like I\u2019m spouting off insane conspiracy theories. It sounds like speculative fiction written in a fever dream by an author who\u2019s been dropping acid much too frequently.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Department of Government Efficiency</strong>, or D.O.G.E, because <em>DOGE</em> ha ha get it? ha ha. That doesn\u2019t sound like real life. That sounds like something you\u2019d come across in a particularly screwy episode of <em>Helluva Boss</em>.</p>\n\n<p>\u201cAccidentally\u201d firing hundreds of people overseeing the <strong>NUCLEAR ARSENAL</strong> of the United States of America\u2026and then struggling to figure out <em>HOW TO CONTACT SOME OF THEM TO UN-FIRE THEM??!!?!</em></p>\n\n<p>This wouldn\u2019t even end up in a work of fiction. The editor would take a red pen to it because this stuff\u2019s not only far too outlandish, it sounds stupidly stupid and dumb, dumb, dumb. <em>So dumb.</em></p>\n\n<p>I keep telling my teen this isn\u2019t <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/tag/politics\">#politics</a> as usual under any circumstances. <strong>I apologize, over and over again, that they\u2019re coming of age</strong> in an age of sheer lunacy, idiocy, and fashy buffoonery\u2026that the optimism of youthful Millennials believing they were ushering in a 21st Century filled with technological wonders, abundant resources, and pluralistic freedom in a spirit of inclusion had quickly\u2014shockingly\u2014given way to, well, the usual suspects of the dregs of history: <strong>Greed. Lust for power. The strong preying on the weak. Mass propaganda. Regressivism.</strong></p>\n\n<p>Astonishingly, my teen isn\u2019t phased. They\u2019ve been through a lot already. You have no idea (and I don\u2019t feel it\u2019s my story to tell). But they\u2019re resilient, they\u2019re <strong>out</strong>, and oh yeah they\u2019re proud\u2014they were born a <em>fighter</em>.</p>\n\n<p>Yes I\u2019m a dad who is absolutely in awe of his children, and as a result my perspective is rapidly shifting. Two Months into Daily Blogging and I Hate It

        "html": "<p><strong>PSYCH!</strong> \ud83d\ude1c</p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/20241207/daily-blogging-in-2025\">I announced back on December 7</a> I\u2019d be daily blogging throughout 2025, and then <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/20250104/first-four-weeks-of-daily-blogging\">on January 4</a> I offered an initial assessment as to how things were going (as I\u2019d actually started right then and there in December as a trial balloon).</p>\n\n<p>Here\u2019s what I think now, two months in:</p>\n\n<p><strong>I love it! But I wish I\u2019d given myself a \u201cget out of blogging free\u201d card I could use once, perhaps twice a month.</strong></p>\n\n<p>The Good: the imperative that <em>I simply must do it</em> every day solves a ton of scheduling headaches. No need to keep track of when I last posted or when I should post next if it\u2019s every day like clockwork! And the drive to have to do this frequently means I\u2019ve covered a much wider range of topics than I might have otherwise.</p>\n\n<p>The Bad: like I said, I do wish I\u2019d given myself the occasional \u201cout\u201d. Every now and then, when I am ill or extremely tired or life just gets in the way, I\u2019d love to be able to say \u201coh well, better luck next time\u201d instead of having to half-ass cobble something together at the last minute (and I mean <em>literally like 11:59 at night</em> on an occasion or two!).</p>\n\n<p>I think, when this challenge is over, I\u2019ll come up with a system along those lines. Yet the core habits I\u2019m forming now \u2014 <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/tag/writing\">#writing</a> on a daily basis come hell or high water \u2014 will serve me well long into the future.</p>\n\n<p>While I work during the day as a web programmer, I consider myself first and foremost a <strong>web publisher</strong>. This is my calling in life, even if it\u2019s not my principal vocation, and it feels ever more true as time passes. Some day, my career as a programmer may draw to a close.         "text": "PSYCH! \ud83d\ude1c\n\nI announced back on December 7 I\u2019d be daily blogging throughout 2025, and then on January 4 I offered an initial assessment as to how things were going (as I\u2019d actually started right then and there in December as a trial balloon).\n\nHere\u2019s what I think now, two months in:\n\nI love it! But I wish I\u2019d given myself a \u201cget out of blogging free\u201d card I could use once, perhaps twice a month.\n\nThe Good: the imperative that I simply must do it every day solves a ton of scheduling headaches. No need to keep track of when I last posted or when I should post next if it\u2019s every day like clockwork! And the drive to have to do this frequently means I\u2019ve covered a much wider range of topics than I might have otherwise.\n\nThe Bad: like I said, I do wish I\u2019d given myself the occasional \u201cout\u201d. Every now and then, when I am ill or extremely tired or life just gets in the way, I\u2019d love to be able to say \u201coh well, better luck next time\u201d instead of having to half-ass cobble something together at the last minute (and I mean literally like 11:59 at night on an occasion or two!).\n\nI think, when this challenge is over, I\u2019ll come up with a system along those lines. Yet the core habits I\u2019m forming now \u2014 #writing on a daily basis come hell or high water \u2014 will serve me well long into the future.\n\nWhile I work during the day as a web programmer, I consider myself first and foremost a web publisher. This is my calling in life, even if it\u2019s not my principal vocation, and it feels ever more true as time passes. Some day, my career as a programmer may draw to a close. But writing? I\u2019ll keep doing that until such day the breath leaves my body."
