I’ve been hearing that Jensen McRae is asking people to mask at her shows and she’s been providing them. Wasn’t familiar with her before, but I must stan! Loving the music so far, great voice: “Savannah”
I sometimes feel bad it’s been over two months and I haven’t traveled farther to more “spectacular” inland wilderness areas. I’ve largely spent a heckuvalotta time just in coastal areas of Oregon and Northern California.
But why not? I sincerely believe this is some of the most beautiful country you’ll find anywhere in the world. And town-hopping—checking out the local food scenes, libraries, stores, galleries, markets, etc.—is one of the most fun things to do ever.
I do have some “big” trips planned soon, such as going to the Colorado Rocky Mountains as well as Glacier National Park. But I’m not in a rush. Remember, the #NomadLifestyle isn’t about where you eventually get to. It’s about the life you are privileged to experience along the way.
While we’re on the subject of major milestones (I recently celebrated having daily-blogged one third of 2025 thus far), it only just occurred to me that I have been living the #NomadLifestyle for longer than living in a house this year. 🤯
Since I moved out at the end of February, and that’s an extra-short month, January + February comes out to less than than March + April. Boom!
If you had told me at any point last year that by mid-spring this year I would have been traveling full-time for longer than I lived in a house, I would have looked at you like you were smokin’ somethin’. But “misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows” and it took—well, it took the descent of America into a fascist dictatorship and the moral implosion of Big Tech and the aftermath of personal/family battles to get me to realize life on the road is actually the least risky maneuver if I wanted to maintain a modicum of sanity in this upside-down world. 😂
(Thus far: no regerts!)
Hey Los Angeles, please consider leaving a public comment on CF #25-0600 urging them to reverse the proposed cut to the Department of Disability and also add a line item funding prevention, treatment, education, and support services for Long COVID.
Uh oh, another good list of things to read for my list of things to read.
