"text": "So, a couple months ago I started on Lyrica, which made me super fatigued and didn\u2019t help with my pain any. And I got super frustrated about not being able to get anything done.\n\nOver the last couple weeks I\u2019ve been tapering off the Lyrica, and it\u2019s made a huge difference in my energy levels: I\u2019m actually able to do stuff again!\n\nSo of course with this surge of energy I\u2019ve been Doing All The Things, with the inevitable result that I am now in incredible pain because I\u2019ve overdone it (as you could probably tell by all the work I did on the streaming music prototyping over the last couple days). And of course, I got it to a spot where things are useful for a hypothetical future, but nothing anyone else can actually use just yet.\n\nMy life is such a precarious balancing act, huh.",

I spent some time learning about Custom Destinations in FreePBX/Asterisk and set up a voicemail "dropbox". You can call an extension and record a message, then the next person who calls the extension can listen back to it.

I\u2019m not a huge fan of the <em>Alien</em> franchise. I saw the first two movies back in the day because they\u2019re classics, and sure, I appreciate them for their role in cinematic history. (Not to mention <a href=\"https://methodshop.com/aliens-quotes/\">some great memeable quotes!</a>)</p>\n\n<p>Then I watched <em>Alien: Romulus</em> when it came out because it was getting so much buzz that it was a return to form and made with love for the franchise classics (as well as the game <em>Alien: Isolation</em> of which my brother is a total fan). I did enjoy it, but I\u2019d never go out of my way to watch it again or think about it much at all really.</p>\n\n<p>Yet again, however, they reeled me back in! Because <em>Alien: Earth</em> was getting so many positive reviews, I decided I\u2019d give it a try\u2026<strong>and oh wow am I glad I did!</strong></p>\n\n<p>This show is <em>terrific</em>.</p>\n\n<p>I\u2019m not sure I\u2019d put it up on a pedestal reserved for the likes of such prestige <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/tag/scifi\">#scifi</a> <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/tag/tvshows\">#tvshows</a> as <em>Severance</em>, or <em>Star Wars: Andor</em>, or <em>Loki</em>, but it is definitely tickling my fancy and I\u2019m eagerly awaiting the next episode. Not only is the story compelling and the acting quite excellent, but the <strong>production design</strong> is absolutely kick-ass. Andy Nicholson and the rest of the crew who worked on this need to win awards, no question. It <em>looks</em> phenomenal, and thus has quickly catapulted this installment of the <em>Alien</em> franchise right up to the top of that list for me.</p>",
