"html": "<p>As some of you may recall, I spent the first half of the year <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/tag/writing\">#writing</a> and publishing on this blog (or <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/projects\">one of my other blogs</a>) every day. <strong>Every single day.</strong></p>\n\n<p>And <a href=\"https://jaredwhite.com/20250705/declaration-of-blogging-independence\">then in July</a>, I declared my \u201cindependence\u201d from my daily blogging habit yet claimed I would continue to post very regularly and only give myself a day off here and there.</p>\n\n<p><strong>I completely failed.</strong> \ud83e\udee0</p>\n\n<p>For a while, I did keep a log of the days I didn\u2019t publish. It didn\u2019t go well. <em>Even in July</em>, I couldn\u2019t stick to my \u201cmax four days off\u201d plan.</p>\n\n<ol><li>4th of July</li>\n <li>10th of July</li>\n <li>16th of July</li>\n <li>19th of July</li>\n <li>22th of July LAST ONE, DAMNIT!</li>\n <li>28th of July THIS IS IT, I SWEAR!!</li>\n <li>2nd of August</li>\n <li>7th of August</li>\n <li>10th of August</li>\n <li>14th of August</li>\n <li>18th of August</li>\n <li>23rd of August</li>\n <li>24th of August</li>\n <li>25th of August</li>\n <li>27th of August</li>\n <li>28th of August</li>\n <li>29th of August</li>\n <li>31st of August</li>\n <li>2nd of September</li>\n</ol><p><em>\u2026and it only gets worse from there.</em> \ud83d\ude2d (I totally gave up tracking this mid-October.)</p>\n\n<p>Listen: I could give you a laundry list of excuses\u2014many very valid!\u2014why I completely fell off the wagon. But that\u2019s just it: they are excuses. <strong>And when it comes to blogging, I\u2019m done with excuses.</strong></p>\n\n<p>So I\u2019ve decided I\u2019m going to <em>schedule my blogging habit</em>. No more squishy \u201cpick a day off\u201d silliness, because obviously that didn\u2019t work. Here\u2019s what I\u2019ll do instead:</p>\n\n<p><strong>EVERY BUSINESS DAY</strong>. Monday\u2013Friday. Without fail.</p>\n\n<p>By giving myself the weekend off, like normal people, I will get roughly 8 days off each month which is nice. But now it\u2019s not my choice. <em>I will (metaphorically) flog myself if I stray from this schedule.</em> No room for error. None. \ud83d\ude45\ud83c\udffb\u200d\u2642\ufe0f</p>\n\n<p>I watched \u201cWick is Pain\u201d the other day (a <em>fantastic</em> documentary currently streaming on Netflix), and this is my new motto: <strong>Blogging is Pain</strong>.</p>\n\n<p>\ud83d\udca2 <em>Bring it.</em> \ud83d\udca2</p>",

I didnāt want to post this back when the fire was raging (no need to be sensationalist), but back when the Flat Fire first began in central Oregon on August 21, I was boondocking and saw it pretty close up. I had to adjust my plans so I would be a safe distance away across the Deschutes river valley. š²
