This is related to what Robert W. Gehl calls the \u201ccovenantal fediverse\u201d in his book <a href=\"https://openlibrary.org/isbn/9780197776681\">Move Slowly and Build Bridges</a>. I still have the last third of the book left to read but I have noticed that Gehl does not mention <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluesky\">Bluesky</a> until the epilogue. People on the <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse\">Fediverse</a> can communicate with people on Bluesky through <a href=\"https://fed.brid.gy/\">Bridgy Fed</a> and about a year ago, I <a href=\"https://github.com/herestomwiththeweather/irwin/issues/37\">added Bluesky support</a> through Bridgy Fed to my Fediverse server.</p>\n\n<p>Although it seems Bluesky does not have API support for requests to fetch code of conduct rules, it does have <a href=\"https://bsky.social/about/support/community-guidelines\">Community guidelines</a> and it seems there could be consequences including account termination when an account does not follow the guidelines. This weekend, people on the Fediverse have been sharing <a href=\"https://m.ai6yr.org/@ai6yr/115907898577599466\">instructions to block Bluesky</a> since Bluesky gave a blue check to <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Immigration_and_Customs_Enforcement\">ICE</a>. Considering the history of behavior by <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter\">X</a> accounts related to ICE, this is a completely reasonable response. It will be interesting to see if this new Bluesky account can last a week without breaking Bluesky\u2019s community guidelines. This was a fantastic story of human connection spanning decades and the characters really drew me in. While a binding factor is their love for and creation of video games, I think it is still very accessible and hope that won’t put anyone off reading it. Read: it’s not just a story for gamers.
