@LukasRosenstock Maybe we should change "manual until it hurts" to "manual until silo quit" then?

#IndieWebSummit party time

Headed to LAX for our family flight to Portland. IndieWeb Summit and a little R

Pretty excited! Indigenous is coming together. It’s available for pre-order this week, in celebration of IndieWebSummit 2018. It’s set to release at the end of the week (I’ve got last minute stuff that is being added). But the most recent build (for Beta testers later today), has Dark Mode, a response bar in the Timeline and a Full Article view when you swipe left.

Replied to Indieweb WordPress Developer Seeks to Add IndieNews Support (tiny.n9n.us)
Indieweb developer David Shanske is testing a new feature to POSSE to Indienews from his Syndication Links plugin. The new feature would add support for Micropub and for WordPress post editor syndication to Indienews.
Let’s do this.

If you’re thinking of writing something that explains a weird thing you struggled with on the Internet, do it! Don’t worry about the views and likes and Internet hugs. If you’ve struggled with figuring out this thing then be sure to jot it down, even if it’s unedited and it uses too many commas and you don’t like the tone of it.

IndieWeb Summit 2018 – Portland, Oregon

Thanks for the quote! Minor fixes, though: my last name is Morrill and it's linked to @schmarty's great post. My quote came from https://gregorlove.com/2017/06/indieweb-appreciation/ :]

It has been a crazy few weeks! I am looking forward to heading to Portland on Monday for some much-needed time off, and for IndieWeb Summit 2018.
In @microformats.org year 14, we welcome new admins @aaronpk @gRegorLove @martijnvdven @HeNeArXn! http://microformats.org/wiki/admins
All have been active for years, helping welcome new members and doing essential wiki gardening & #microformats2 parser updates!

Episode 7: The Reverse Salmention

What if you look at separating your Yarns code into client and server, connected by microsub? That may be simplifying in structure, and if there are bits missing, that will inform the microsub spec.
Happy 13th to @microformats.org!
With more use of #microformats2, especially among the growing #indieweb network of websites, we’ve iterated key specs for real-world needs and are seeing more active community members. More updates & posts coming up!

Great summary of the IndieWeb Summit by @schmarty! Join us next week in Portland.

While you should ultimately choose the best option for you, I would strongly encourage the use of #3. Microsub readers are off to a great start, and I think the biggest barrier to entry is going to be servers. Aperture opening up will be a great step, but as you said, some people will want an easy way to have their feed data on their own server. A Wordpress plug-in that Added a Microsub Server to their Wordpress install would be a HUGE leap in lowering the bar for entry into using Microsub for ordinary people.

#indieweb #microsub #3
@jackjamieson awesome to see you mentioned Together as a good example of a Microsub reader 😀

As Eddie said, having a great Microsub server built on top of WordPress would be a massive win for the community, as it would greatly reduce the barrier of entry, and encourage the development of more Microsub clients. That said, Yarns is also (currently) mostly a *reader*, so having it be a Microsub client is also a great idea.

I'd say, selfishly, #3, but really what I'd love to see is for you to do *both* a Microsub server and a Microsub client for WordPress!

If travel is an issue (it’s a big deal for me), remote participation is possible!
