I've started reading up on #ActivityPub. So far I had been assuming that the "@user@host" scheme was baked into the protocol, but apparently it isn't, and it's perfectly capable of integrating user-less domains into the Fediverse.
Have I misread it? (I admit I only did surface level reading so far.)
If I haven't, wouldn't this mean that instances could (theoretically) also just act as hosting providers for #IndieWeb style domain-as-identity accounts?

Content warning: Twitter on banning Fediverse links
...and if you try putting a #Ferdiverse link in your profile, it's flagged as malware.
Who knows what that might be doing to your ability to show up in timelines...
Enough with the back and forth. I'm leaving the colosseum for real. I don't need it. I never needed it.
#IndieWeb #Fediverse and #SelfHosted is where it's at.

@chrisaldrich @leo yes, that would be interesting to expand upon. #indieweb seems protocol driven whereas #fediverse is people driven.
Over time, the people of the fediverse will require richer protocols, and no doubt some of the indieweb ideas will form the basis of those.
But as with humanity in general, people gather first, then decide what protocols are needed.

It was the microformats2 feed on your homepage. It still showed content, but it's formatted a bit weird, showing multiple notes in one "post". Try it in the Monocle preview: https://monocle.p3k.io/preview?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcolinwalker.blog%2F
Currently the authorship on my notes points to the homepage, so the h-card there should have the info. It's not as common a setup, but see steps 5 and 7 in https://indieweb.org/authorship-spec#Algorithm

My main culture/art/history/general shishi stuff site feed @webmatron is also now on Mastodon. I think I'm getting the hang of this. :-) The main problem seems to have been my theme, Nirvana. For some reason it didn't play well with IndieWeb.

"html": "<img src=\"https://dri.es/files/images/drupal/drupal-10-confetti.png\" alt=\"The Drupal logo surrounded by confetti and the number 10.\" title=\"Drupal 10 confetti\" /><p>Today, we released <a href=\"https://www.drupal.org/blog/drupal-10-0-0\">Drupal 10</a>. Getting to this double-digit release has been 22 years in the making! It's an exciting milestone.</p>\n\n<p>Some of Drupal's recent innovations include:</p>\n\n<ol><li>Modernized front end experience (Olivero theme)</li>\n <li>Modernized back end experience (Claro theme)</li>\n <li>An improved content editing experience (CKEditor 5)</li>\n <li>Improved developer experience: built on Symfony 6.2 with support for PHP 8.2, etc</li>\n <li>A new theme generator</li>\n</ol><p>The five bullets above just scratch the surface. Since the initial release of <a href=\"https://dri.es/drupal-9-0-0-released\">Drupal 9</a>, 4,000+ changes were committed to Drupal Core alone. These contributions came from 2,129 different people and 616 unique organizations over the course of the last 2.5 years. Incredible!</p>\n\n<p>The launch of Drupal 10 comes at a good time because there is so much turmoil happening within the top social networking sites right now. It's a good reminder that preserving and promoting an Open Web is more important than ever. Open Source, the <a href=\"https://indieweb.org/\">Indieweb</a>, the <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse\">Fediverse</a>, and even <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS\">RSS</a> are all seeing new-found appreciation and adoption as people realize the drawbacks of communicating and collaborating via proprietary platforms.</p>\n\n<p>An Open Web means opportunity for all. And Open Source gives us the freedom to understand how our software works, to collectively improve it, and to <a href=\"https://dri.es/the-web-i-want-for-my-kids\">build the web we want</a>. Projects like <a href=\"https://www.drupal.org/\">Drupal</a> are fundamental for keeping the Open Web alive and well. The main <a href=\"https://dri.es/state-of-drupal-presentation-september-2022\">focus of Drupal 10</a> was to bring even more site builders to Drupal. In that sense, the release of Drupal 10 will help extend the web's reach and protect its long-term well-being.</p>\n\n\n\n<p>If it's been a while since you've considered using Drupal, I encourage you to try <a href=\"https://www.drupal.org/blog/drupal-10-0-0\">Drupal 10</a>.</p>\n\n<p>I'd like to thank every single contributor for what we've accomplished together with Drupal 10!</p>",
