The best website in the world?

You are FRICKIN' awesome!!! Thank you for taking this stance AND sharing it with us! Yes, this is indeed why I am here (in the #fediverse, on #Mastodon, with #indieweb.social).
This is a pretty great set of #indieweb principles to build an online presence upon. Think it gels very well with #fediverse values also.
Arguably, the most important blog post I ever wrote. A sort of personal manifesto on my site.
After I stopped promoting myself as if I were a brand, I needed to put my foot down and declare what I stand for, on the only place that's not going away: my personal website.
So, here it is. A personal manifesto, where I touch on these topics:

Indieweb.social has 248 patrons pitching in $747.40 a month to help support the operation of this Goldilocks-sized Mastodon instance.

I moved here seven months ago to live close to the #indieweb.
I don’t have much to add to the Meta vs. the fediverse debate beyond what John Gruber has written about. Big platforms using open APIs is a good thing! Much better than closed silos and locked-down APIs. I don’t trust Facebook either, but preemptively blocking them is shooting ourselves in the foot.
Looking for more #IndieWeb advice. I want to “just write” and I also want to “just code a perfect website with #ActivityPub ID, Webmentions, etc.” and am stuck.
Deprecated name is at https://johnthomas.tech and want to move to https://renegadejade.com.
No blog currently but my historical MO is a .md -> Git -> Netlify/Vercel workflow, previous with Jekyll and currently with Nextjs. In particular, I love Chakra UI. SSG complicates federation, though.
Is headless Wordpress + Nextjs a solid move?
Cloudflare puts me in a hard place. I'm trying to move towards a more #indieweb niche (which is taking time) but one of the services I need to find a way to avoid is #cloudflare. Don't get me wrong, its an awesome service, but so much of the internet depends upon it that I want to use something smaller.
The only problem is they provide so many services that migrating out will literally take years, if I can even manage it.

I feel like it's time to ditch #webmentions from my website. The ratio for spam to real mentions has taken a steep turn towards the former.
This also offers a chance to wipe out any Javascript from the website, which is incredibly tempting.
New instance, so time for an #introduction
