        "text": "Community Guidelines for Kottke.org\n\n\n\nI like Jason\u2019s guidelines\u2014very in keeping with The Session\u2019s house rules.\n\nAnd I really like his motivation for trying out comments:\n\n\n  The timing feels right. Twitter has imploded and social sites/services like Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon are jockeying to replace it (for various definitions of \u201creplace\u201d). People are re-thinking what they want out of social media on the internet and I believe there\u2019s an opportunity for sites like kottke.org to provide a different and perhaps even better experience for sharing and discussing information. Shit, maybe I\u2019m wrong but it\u2019s definitely worth a try.\n\n\nAs I said in my comment:\n\n\n  Yes! More experiments like this please! Experiments that aren\u2019t just \u201clet\u2019s clone Twitter\u201d.",

        "html": "<p>My misadventures with ActivityPub continues! </p><p>So, this morning I posted <a href=\"https://dramatea88.wordpress.com/2023/10/17/why-i-prefer-cdramas-and-kdramas-over-hollywood/\">a blog post</a> on DramaTea, my blog for CDramas and Kdramas.</p><p>In a weird twist, my older posts are now appearing in the Fediverse version of the DramaTea blog and my new post is not appearing \ud83d\ude02 And even more mysteriously, my brid.gy integration which has <em>never</em> worked before started to work! Haha! What\u2019s going on?</p><p>What can I say? The wordpress.com and Activitypub integration with the Fediverse is still a little rough around the edges.  </p><p>Comments are also not reliably appearing either. I\u2019ve posted <a href=\"https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/fediverse-activitypub-some-comments-from-mastodon-not-appearing-on-blog/\">a query</a> on WordPress.com\u2019s support forums, and it\u2019s so far crickets! </p><p>Looks like I am not moving away from brid.gy anytime soon.
