@amin Oh good god my workflows are very opinionated and specific to what I do šŸ˜‚ A lot of it also relies less on the existence of a generator and more of abusing the way it works. But hereā€™s the main things Iā€™m trying to get working/have already and love.

- Nunjucks and Markdown Templating Support
- Some kind of decent support for getting a post from iOS pushed to whatever repo stores the site and triggers a build
- Ability for multiple post types (ex. Posts as one category and notes as another)
- API connections to other services to grab extra metadata without custom functions (ex. Adding a book ISBN to the metadata and being able to pull whatever expected data for the book into the post itself)

My reqs./wishes are a bit odd and eventually Iā€™ll build my own system (#IndieWeb FTW) but I have literally zero free time to work on it. Maybe over the summer but thatā€™s also very much up in the air (waiting on internships but I wonā€™t hear about the one that Iā€™m really banking on until like March).

For anyone making use of my RSS feeds, I made some changes to simplify the template while making some content formatting changes (e.g. inlining the feature image at the start of longer articles/reviews). Iā€™ve also limited the main feed to 25 posts instead of 50, which seemed excessive. While I tested with an offline reader, I canā€™t guarantee things wonā€™t break, so if they do, please let me know!

I'm moving servers so it's time for another #introduction. I'll replace this later, but I'm moving my account from arush@indieweb.social to this one. #indieweb member since 2015, #WordPresser since 2005, web developer and web accessibility professional always looking to improve my craft, proudly #Jewish since my conversion in 2000, and proudly #disabled since 1980. @ben @fallenhitokiri there's also https://xn--sr8hvo.ws/ for a more traditional version of an webring for the #IndieWeb

Plugin Inventory, 2023

All the plugins Iā€™m running with WordPress (itā€™s a lot), and the functionality I get.

Yesterday I started a page that hosts my drawings or renders I made for this yearā€™s Huevember and Meowvember challenges!

This page has commentary for each piece as I've been trying some different things. I still have catching up to do with sketches I started but haven't finished yet for days that now passed but I'm still going forward.

Thereā€™s about $5000 of budget ready for someone to help me build ActivityPub deeply into Known such that it can interoperate with Mastodon users. Email me at ben@benwerd.com if youā€™re interested.

Two weeks ago @matthiasott asked people to share the stories behind their personal blog's domains.

After @michelle and @flamed blogged about their domain choices, I decided to join the discussion in blogosphere!

Joe brought CSS Battle to my attention today. I enjoy CSS but most of my daily work with it is routine stuff like forms, nothing too fancy or creative. I decided to try it out and in true indieweb fashion, I wanted to post the results on my site.

The 2023-11-14 Daily Target seemed like a good chance to brush up on CSS Grid. I got my solution down to 342 characters when minified. I must say it hurt a little to remove the quotation marks on HTML attributes. :]

It looks like the daily target switches over at midnight UTC, so I was too late to submit this today. Still a fun exercise and looking forward to more.

Shout out to @marksuth for picking up the torch on IndiePass and continuing to improve it! The fact that I can post to my own bespoke blog from my phone as easily as I can post to Mastodon is a testament to the power of the Indieweb and protocols over platforms.

@laurenshof Yeah I emailed @matthiasott about a similar problem. In true #indieweb philosophy, there seems to be no POSSE solution for people who want something that "just works". Maybe @snarfed.org 's Bridgy is the closest thing, but it's not really a CMS.

cc @davew

Finished out the rest of micropub support in the new CMS, including support for most of the spec, including a media endpoint.

Iā€™ve started on IndieAuth, which is more complicated than I remember. Thankfully, I have implemented it once before, so I have some stale but working code to reference.
This is a test (4th Note) with the ā€œregularā€ Webmention + IndieWeb pluginsā€¦

I recently added Webfinger to my domain so that I can be found in Mastodon by searching for my public email address.

Here's how I did it for my #Hugo website https://garrido.io/notes/adding-webfinger/
