GTA 4's 15-year old fake internet has more diversity than our modern one, yo.
I need some recommendations for people to follow, any suggestions are welcome.

A feed-only #blog? Madness! But I made one anyway, just as an experiment 😅 https://chrismcleod.dev/blog/so-about-that-feed-reader-only-blog-idea/ #indieweb #blogging #rss
Bookmarked Ideas for improving metaformats parsing by .
Most of IndieBlocks’ “h-cite” blocks use some kind of fallback (i.e., the author, if any, and title tags) for remote pages that don’t support microformats. Some good ideas here on taking this just a bit further.
I gathered a list of design and technology podcasts and independent magazines here: see what people who are building an independent internet and liberatory tech are reading and listening to:

My quick 5-minute demo from FediForum is now on YouTube. I show off Micro.blog and fediverse integration. It’s a whirlwind tour of several different things including how we think about cross-posting.
📝 Not the post I intended to write today, but it's the one I ended up writing:
Dear friends,
I made a personal website.
Some links (mostly knowledge category) are dead for now. I hope you will enjoy the website.
Note that there is autoplay music; working on fixing this as the music player is supposed to play sounds only when the user clicks the play button. Apologies

Issue 4 of #OwnYourWeb is out. 🥳
I wanted to know: which tech stachs, platforms, content management systems, static site generators etc. are you using for your personal sites?
And the whole internet replied! 🤯💚
Plus links to projects, tools, talks, and posts by @michelle, @bastianallgeier, @reichenstein, @matuzo, and @anildash.
Personal site of the (every other) week by @colly 🎶☕️
I don’t post about it often, but I maintain indiebookclub, an app to help track books you’re reading on your own website. I just set up a new feature for it, a year in review page: indiebookclub.biz/review/2023

📝 new post: November Monthly Recap. I posted a lot about the small and independent web last month. If you didn’t see them, you can check them out from this post
Sigh. Runaway disk usage on the machine I use to my host ActivityPub servers is coming to a head: despite my regular maintenance, each week there's another 1% of disk space I can't easily reclaim.
I was hoping to put this project off for a few more weeks ![]()
If anybody has hot tips about reclaiming disk space that relates to Ubuntu, Mastodon, BookWyrm, or Pixelfed, I'm all ears!
✍️ Hexo, WebFinger and better discoverability
Inspired by a post from @maartenballiauw, I've implemented his approach of providing a downloaded WebFinger file via my Hexo-powered, i.e. static, blog in order to achieve better discoverability via my own domain on #ActivityPub platforms like Mastodon. It works, but it has its drawbacks. The #Fediverse is simply not the #IndieWeb.
