Is there webComponent or equivalent to put Codepen-like embed in a Eleventy site but with everything local, not depending on third party tools?
And I mean, as a way to demo code snippet with code and result display side by side.
But Everything would be read only, no need to allow visitors to edit, fork etc…
And I'm talking about something static generated on build and with runtine JS.

🎉 Random indieweb inspiration for the day: My daughter's college Advertising PR class is hand editing HTML+CSS for a project "about me" assignment in VSCode -- and that is so cool -- and it was one of the best "hey dad, guess what we are doing today" text messages of all time #indieweb #prouddad

After reading @capjamesg 's list of things you can do on your #website I wrote down my own:

Take a photo of a bookshelf, get a list of all the titles and ISBNs for each book 📚
You can play around with the system yourself (linked in my blog post), or dive into the source code or dataset.
The underlying dataset and code is licensed under a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.
Posting in a space I control isn’t just about the principle anymore. It’s a kind of self-preservation. I want to preserve my attention and my autonomy. I accept that I’m addicted, and I would like to curb that addiction. We all only have so much time to spend; we only have one face to maintain ownership of. Independence is the most productive, least invasive way forward.
I'm going to have to write more about this on thudfactor.com, but I realized after looking through a lot of other people’s blogs that I have accidentally mentally limited myself simply by requiring a cover image for every post I make. Just that one thing has created significant psychological friction. #indieweb #blogging
(when I finally stop procrastinating)

New #article: "100 Things You Can Do on Your Personal Website - James' Coffee Blog" - One of my favourite things to do in my free time is to tinker with this website. Indeed, this website is the culmination of years of tinkering. I have added features like coffee shop maps that I can share with friends, a way for me to share my bio in two languages, a sitemap.xml file to help search engines find pages on my website, and more.

@fromjason Free are those who live free. We cannot lose control over our lives unless we give it up to them. (And yes, I know a bit what I am talking about, I grew up in the Communist Czechoslovakia). Particularly, with regard to #IndieWeb and similar initiatives, we could be free if we act like it.
Working on an update to my <mastodon-post> Web Component to pluck nested pieces of data returned from the public Mastodon API. Right now the component only allows access top level data points. With this change you'll be able to do something like `<img data-key="media_attachments[0]url" />`.
Anyone interesting in doing something like this?

A companion to my recent entry to this month's IndieWeb Carnival (theme: "digital relationships"), here's a self-righteous and quite naîve post on how I just discovered the preposterous nature of YouTube influencers:
