A new month, a new #IndieWeb Carnival! This month @capjamesg is hosting the event and the topic of the month is Tools.
I'm very excited for it as I love good tools. I need to do some pondering to find an interesting angle to write about.
Meanwhile, if you got a blog, check out this month's carnival from the link and join us!

I'm excited to be hosting the July 2024 #IndieWeb Carnival.
The topic this month is tools: what tools we use to create, what they mean to us, and how they influence our creativity.

Ok, interesting, I installed my own PeerTube instance on the NUC at home where I already run Home Assistant. It's fairly slow but it seems to only matter for transcoding newly uploaded videos which doesn't happen too often.
What I'm looking for is to be able to have an alternative UI to be able to subscribe to other chanels on the fediverse and uploading my own videos.
In the longer run I will open the instance to my close family members so we can share videos internally without the need to use some 3rd party to do so. I have also many home videos from the 90ies which I'd like to share with them.
My first monthly insights post on my blog! this will be a paid feature in the future so check it out! I'd love feedback on the format here so I can tune it to what interests people going forward.

「Recently, half of my waking time seems to be spent actively ignoring the current AI boom. Every investor, every product, even some open source project - all are part of the biggest craze I’ve ever witnessed. My skepticism for all this crap doesn’t come from being against the idea behind it. I love AI, but LLMs are different.」

I caught #COVID in October last year and started watching a bunch of comfort movies and movies I watched as a kid to pass the time. I just finished a blog post about them, finally 😅 I think I might have COVID again so seemed like the right time to post it (this time I am mostly watching Enterprise).

Why invest into a personal site rather than just have a social media presence?
@kevquirk shared his thoughts on the matter which inspired me to add my own on top.

Happy gardening!
My main focus was to make the project easy to use and host, and with @glitchdotcom #MadeWithGlitch and #neocities, this is as simple as "download the ZIP file, extract the project files, and drag and drop them to the editor", or simply "click here to import project straight from GitHub".
Love it. The web can still be fun and easy!
