I Experienced Access Trauma. https://robertkingett.com/posts/6617/ #NoPayWall #IndieWeb #Blog #Blogs
Dinking around with a simple h-feed wrapper around my blog index pages, after seeing it mentioned in the #indieweb IRC. At the same time, and somewhat related-ly (?), testing a URL param in my rss.xml to flag page visits originating from the feed. (But there’s no script underneath, to do anything with that information – and why would I care? Hm.)
Good read by @jinscho, I was there too for the early web era he describes, and I (obviously) agree.

I am interested in getting into writing.
One thing I would love to make is an RPG zine. Have a blog, put homebrew, worldbuilding, rulings advice, little thoughts and articles and then take those blog posts of mine and self-publish a zine. Really just make one for myself. If I sold it, I would sell it for the cost to print, staple, and mail.
I would also like to write about cybersecurity. Should this be one blog or should it be two blogs?

Separate blogs for TTRPG and Cybersecurity
One blog to rule them all?

I'm having a course about digital communications this semester. Guess who will be writing about ActivityPub.
Occasionally, I must traverse deeply nested data formats, typically encoded in JSON, to extract the bits of information that are required to shed light on specific subjects of interest.
To better comprehend which pieces of data are significant, it is often advantageous to pivot the data in the JSON files into wider and longer tabular data representations:

Finally, somebody said what I thought for a long time. I am not #IndieWeb, I just crave good ol’ days when #HTML was enough.

So can you use something like tuns or ngrok on a VPS to safely serve web content on like a raspberry pi in your home network with the wider internet without setting up port forwarding and dynamic DNS? All other concerns for self hosting still apply naturally.
Would be nice to be able “proxy” a self hosted blog from my house to get the advantages of self hosting but restricting access into my home network.

Likes Post-XOXO Ramble on Websites and Freedom: Everybody Comes To Ricks by Joe Crawford.
Love the references to Casablanca here.
Another bytetower.social update:
https://search.bytetower.social gives you access to #yacy, the community-based web search project.
I'm currently compiling a list of domains or topics for which yacy still lacks content.
So if you use the search and don't find the results satisfactory, let me know and maybe we can help to improve the yacy search experience!
