Would anyone have tips for implementing Webmentions inside Hugo?
I know @Seirdy has done it before, and I've found a forum topic about it, but it's really not clear what is needed, and how to properly do it. Furthermore, the way the standard itself works is obscure to me (like, do you need to link the mastodon post somewhere for the system to detect it? what do you use to moderate comments?)

Despite having no spare time to do any such thing, I have an idea for a computer game. In my latest blog post I talk about how I might go about making it, in a hypothetical way.

...Well, the edit appears just fine on my site, but so far I still see the original post from my secondary account on another instance. And it occurs to me that I didn't go look at the update-sending code yet. No clue how long it may take and I haven't looked at whether it's supposed to support federating update, sending an update #webmention to any mentioned #indieweb sites, or both.
pants optional today...

had some downtime this weekend after an exhausting move, so i tried to push myself to see the minimum time it would take for me to launch a whole (responsive) #website and it turns out just under 8 hours!
PANTSON is a #pixelart trading club/pixel clique for website & blog owners to adopt and claim colors while linking to each other! it's all just for fun!
the template is super easy, so this is a great way to get acquainted with pixel art or if you feel like you're a beginner and don't quite have the skills for other pixel clubs.
check it out if it sounds fun to you!

Part of me will always live in 1998. The information super-highway is still a world of endless possibilities, where anybody can have their own website. If I don't like one website, I can just visit a different one today, or even make my own. A social media site is still only one website among billions. The internet is so much bigger. Each of us makes it bigger. The cyberspace utopia lives in my heart.

Was like, maybe I should add a “scrobbling client” column to my silly listens’ post meta. 🤷

My sister’s releasing her first EP
A quick post about my sisters upcoming release of her first EP including links to the tracks and some well deserved brotherly love. …
I decided my newsletter will in fact be an exploration of the old web!
Im calling it "I Miss The Old Web" and we'll discuss all the treasures, histories, and lores that cyberspace of yesterday had to offer.
I still have a lot of stuff to do to get going. For now, check out the new website and let me know what you think: http://imisstheoldweb.com
@m2m @chris @grueproof What advice would you all give to individuals without deep IT skills who would like elegantly coded, resource-light, understandable websites for:
- booksite
- archiving text+image articles originally published as social media threads (ideally with comparable ease of use for image sizing & consistent layout)
- web version of talks, words+slides
- permanent personal sites for academics & independent scholars
Searching for 21 months, still stumped...
#IndieWeb ?
This is a product of this very-old-school LOTR fan site: https://www.lotrfanmb.com
(It’s got a banner!)
This site is mostly to host the fan forums but it also hosts an archive of fan works like the above. There are some other good “sung to the tune ofs” on there to check out
Gotta love the home grown, creator-owned fan works on display… this was before the “Web 2.0” social media companies centralized and devoured fandom interaction
Hoping the #indieWeb keeps on bringing that spirit back!

In short, it is now easier than ever to log into web applications using your own website as an identity provider. Or at least, it would be, if your favorite web apps supported these agency-enhancing technologies.
