A response to @birming's blog post, that came just at the right time.

> Do you remember the first time you felt like the web was magic?
Transcript and recording from Molly White's opening talk at XOXO 2024
Riccardo invited us to discuss multilingualism in a global web for this month's IndieWeb Carnival.
I wrote down my thoughts on my relationship with languages and why I blog in English.
You can use hash mode with Vue-router on a GitHub Page site, but it hurts SEO and seems to break Webmentions. History mode fixes Webmentions and the SEO issues but doesn’t work on GitHub Pages. There might be a hack using a 404.html page, but I’d hate to resort to a hack.

🤖 I posted to my general interest blog.

the more I explore the #indieweb and #openweb and the deeper I get into studying #tech, the more appealing #webdev becomes. It seems like a good crossover between tech and #art (my previous Associate's degree). To one day facilitate open/indie web projects would be super cool.
I'll probably have to wait until I get a proper #IT job before I go back for a full degree though
I remember saying something about this being a sus behavior, even for personal domains within the #IndieWeb and the most rebuff given was that "donations were good enough".
So many gTLDs and a chance to not support this shit ... https://every.to/p/the-disappearance-of-an-internet-domain
"Organizations like Indivisible and hundreds of LGBTQ rights organizations have stepped back from posting on X altogether, with Indivisible encouraging all progressives to leave or at least do an 'X-last strategy'."

Great start! But I'd love to see this broaden to a 'DataFarm-last strategy'. Or as the #IndieWeb folks have been calling it for years, POSSE;
Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere;
Time for our own #indieweb #website #webdev to get a project page as well!
In this case, to track the upcoming finishing of the site rewrite, as well as any future developments.
Currently this is mainly backend work, to finish the rewrite of the PHP Database adapters, but soon this shall include features such as #webmentions comments :D
