That moment when I sit down at my computer and completely forget how to build websites
#developer #web #indieweb

@kemotep My understanding on the way to do it as someone's procrastinated on doing it for years:

  • First step would be to ensure you are producing valid micro-formats on the items in your pages.
  • Possibly publish an atom/rss feed and/or a h-feed.
  • Automated POSSE isn't necessary for the #IndieWeb, but probably the easy way is via #Bridgy / #BridgyFed . There's plenty of DIY plugins too.
  • Possibly add support for #webmentions, maybe via https://webmentions.io .

This weekend I am finishing getting my raspberry pi set up, hell or high water. I will be using tuns.sh to proxy my site(s) from my local host and home LAN to the web. I however want to also be able to support #POSSE to be part of the #indieweb and get the site using #ActivityPub.

What is the most straightforward way to do this? Reading indieweb.org there appears to be a lot of tools people build themselves.

What has other people done in this space that is more accessible? Thanks.

Our button wall is growing, give me a shout if you'd like me to add you!

This is some serious niche junk...
It's hard enough to get folks to use RSS and newsletters. Just publish a damn website with RSS. That shits been around forever.
#SmallWeb

The whole #indieweb stuff is just a way of adding more stuff to an already niche subject...

HTML + CSS + RSS + email on a static site, boom, problem solved for 80% of people.

I'm happy to announce that personal website is in a functional state. It's far from done and doesn't have much on it right now but I love the state I got it to.

Future additions will include:
- my bash automation scripts collection
- my flipper zero files
- guest book
- art gallery
- possibly a blog if I decide what to write about :blobhaj_mlem:

Here's the link for anyone interested: https://catplace.org

While working on the Battle Network shrine, I have done a couple of changes to the main HATsite, seeing as I'm taking a break from working on the shrine. I am releasing these changes as part of this month's HATsite update!

Because there is a lot, a LOT that was made. And of course, the BUTTON WALL has been expanded again.

We really need to enable non-techie folks to have a voice online that NOT tied to large platforms.

All IndieWeb participants need to be vocal, not just developers https://disassociated.com/indieweb-participants-vocal-not-developers/

A new table of contents, lots of writing, and new fonts were added to the website this week. I also started a forum for me and my friends. Do I spend too much time online?

p.s. how do I automatically generate OG images for my website?
