“Goodbye, Twitter” by @brad_frost

> It’s not lost on me that more than at any other point in history our relationships to each other are sculpted by the whims of a handful of commercial companies. I continue to own my own presence on my own website, and want to do some work to beef up my Indie Web self a bit.

My contribution to #IndieWeb Carnival November 2024, which is hosted by @xandra, by reflecting on our capabilities of making an impact on other people and the world.

During yesterday’s IndieWeb Create Day, I got inspired by Reilly’s progress adding tags to his posts. I finally set up my Tags page and linked up the tags at the bottom of each post.
I couldn’t resist adding a bit of random HTML tag fun at the top of that page, too. Let me know your favorite HTML tag and I might add it to the rotation.

This website collects weird websites that do wacky design things and I love it! Some of these are still accessible! https://whimsical.club/ #WebDev #IndieWeb
our november newsletter is out for the #32bitcafe! our monthly newsletter talks about what community members are #blogging about this month, community news, a member's personal website of the month, and events happening in the cafe and around the #indieweb.
if you haven't subscribed or heard of us, i hope you'll give it a read and include us in your email reading! <3 it's a great way to keep up with what developers, artists, and hobbyists are doing with their personal websites to grow the #SmallWeb and get out from under the thumb of #bigtech.

New on #WellMadeWeb: A Single Div.
What is the most that can be achieved inside a single div, leaving the rest to CSS? Quite a lot, as @lynnandtonic has proven to us with her website "A Single Div."

It's the second day of me publishing my digital garden and I'm already worrying about link rot.
For a notes system / personal knowledge base, flexibility is integral: I'm constantly reorganizing and renaming my notes as I learn more and as clusters of notes gain importance.
But when those notes are published online, I'm worried about ending up with tons of link rot (or a massive maintenance headache with redirects).
Has anyone figured out a good solution for this?
@scottjenson If we make a strong return to the ideals of the Semantic Web (and some folks like #indieweb are making strides in this area), then aggregators could arise that would provide entry points into that data through consolidated APIs.
Mozart’s Coffee is already reserving spots for their Christmas lights, so next week’s IndieWeb Meetup will be at Radio Coffee & Beer instead. Wednesday, 7pm. 🎄
Today I finally updated my website and got to properly use my updated neovim config

I highly recommend subscribing to the "Kagi Small Web - Appreciated Posts" #RSS feed. It's posts from the Kagi Small Web feed that have been "upvoted" by the community.
