I also wrote a blog post. Enjoy!

I've just tweaked my main RSS feed to incorporate both articles and micro posts... apologies if doing that flooded your feedreader or timeline like it did mine. #indieweb

Here's a roundup of some great indie/small web newsletters this week. Most of these were delivered to my RSS reader.

ReadBeanIceCream Slash Pages
I recently asked for some tips on improving my site. In doing so, I learned about slash pages.

Thanks to @shellsharks for the recommendation!

+1 journalism
Would love to see some of these move to Ghost, or Buttondown, or other systems that are independent of tech enshittifiers like Substack. I'd bet some already are, do you know of any?
"London Centric is one of perhaps a half-dozen Substacks [sic]—with names like London Spy, The Londoner, Capital Letter, The London Minute—that have sprung up, mostly in the past year or so." https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/letter-from-the-uk/london-is-a-local-news-desert-what-comes-next (also at https://archive.ph/e1u7d ) #London #journalism #IndieWeb
I’ve experimented with print styles on my site. My resume is a PDF printable version of a page on my site. I also love the idea of a printed book of my website. I think there are a few (mostly defunct) services for that listed on the IndieWeb wiki somewhere.
Recent Chris Hayes interview on Marc Maron podcast namechecks RSS, “Really Simple Syndication,” web pages, and open protocols. My girlfriend: “how’s it feel to hear your arguments parroted back to you?” Roughly 50 minutes in. #IndieWeb #RSS https://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episode-1621-chris-hayes
Memories of Phantasm has some GREAT theme songs. As an exercise, I wanted to figure out the meaning behind its most famous one, and make singable lyrics of it. Do lmk what you think...👉🏼👈🏼

Sorry this is so late!!! Bu'hey, good opportunity to hit that orange "Subscribe" button on my website and try getting updates earlier, right?? 🟠
Thinking about working on my #PWA and #WellKnown folder so I get banned from the #IndieWeb by the elitists in charge of it.
Thanks to all who participated in the #IndieWeb Blog Carnival in February on the topic "Affirmations." I've posted a roundup piece. Go read, and go click links! Personal websites are a throwback that never left. Get one. https://artlung.com/blog/2025/03/07/blog-carnival-roundup/ #writing #blogging

Via Porkbun's website, small price increases for certain (niche) TLDs coming April 1 (and no, it doesn't appear to be an April Fool's joke 😂) https://porkbun.com/blog/domain-name-prices-increase-april-2025
It's CSS Naked Day on April 9th - consider this toot your one month warning to get your website ready in time to promote web (html!) standards and accessibility!
I still have lots of work to do on the accessibility front but I'm ready to get naked (sfw!) - in fact I made "no CSS" a theme option on my site to keep me fully aware of any html changes I make!
Man I was all ready to bring my Wordpress blog over to a Hugo static site hosted on Codeberg, but I quickly become overwhelmed by how to do this. I am not familiar with half of this stuff and it's not as easy as I was expecting.

I am thinking about migrating my Mastodon-Account to my micro.blog. Not sure if I will miss out on a lot of I do. Likes will change (there are no likes on the other side), but you’ll still see my posts and will be able to comment on them.
Written tutorials with GIFs is superior to video in every possible way.
I don't get it. Maybe we just need a blog search engine with clickbait thumbnails.
