https://250kb.club A website by Norman Köhring @Koehr . Quoting the front page:
The 250KB Club is a collection of web pages that share certain values, especially a focus on performance, efficiency, accessibility and sustainability.
Websites in this list must not exceed 256KB compressed size!
Yes, compressed size. It makes much more sense because it allows for a lot of text to be transferred without having a big impact on the total size, while the impact of media is basically unaffected.
If your pages exceeds 250KB, you might consider 512kB.club or 1MB.club.
You can suggest a web page for this collection via Sourcehut or via Github. The site will be reviewed and, if applicable, added to the list below. Pages are checked in irregular intervals, but not more than once every week.
All entries have their own sub page with additional information. If you want, you can directly link to it from your page.

A fun thing to do on my computer/phone in a few spare minutes I take a quick look at the “Explore” tab of the Marginalia search engine. Marginalia is a small, traditional search engine that indexes traditional websites, by which I mean mostly sites that are statically generated and not “single-page applications” (SPAs), things like blogs, wikis, non-corporate news, instruction manuals, free-to-read works of fiction, web comics, and so on. The “Explore” tab shows you some random selection of indexed web pages.

I don’t know how to structure & organize my #website. So I wrote on my website that I don’t know how to structure & organize it.
I don’t have much on my website yet. So I made a list on my website of what I have planned.
I'm really starting to revel in this "just say the thing out loud" approach...
...rather than wait for a polished product, I'm sharing the messy process
...and I'm kind of loving it.

Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel written by Ray Bradbury. I read it a long time ago, so I don't remember much, but I remember two details: the first is that it describes a society where books are banned and therefore burned, the second is the constant bombardment of advertising that the population has to endure.

new #kiki update a'for the weekend because i know it's such a great idea to release patches on a friday afternoon 😎
this adds a really nice feature: now you can add any custom dynamic variables you want to /layout/dynamic.bug, and pages can use them!
this idea is courtesy of @minterpunct who is the first kiki webmaster use dynamic content *really* creatively in their pages - storing chunks of html code that can be re-used all over the place - stuff like emojis and javascript code! i honestly never imagined using it this way, and it's a super smart way of re-using code without having to retype it anywhere

Welcome to the May 2025 edition of IndieWeb Movie Club!
As your host for this month¹, I invite you to (re)watch the film “Tomorrowland” (https://movies.disney.com/tomorrowland), with an optional prequel book reading assignment!
“Before Tomorrowland” (https://books.disney.com/book/before-tomorrowland/) was released about a month before the film, so it’s fine to read before watching.
#Tomorrowland is available in various physical media formats, and via streaming on DisneyPlus². 130 minutes, rated PG.
This month is the 10th anniversary of Tomorrowland’s release.
The world was quite different in 2015.
I had my own impressions of Tomorrowland when I first heard about it and then watched it much later (which I won’t link to yet to avoid spoilers or biasing your opinions). The film made such a strong impression on me that I held a group film viewing and discussion party in 2015!
I’m curious how both first time viewers in 2025 and folks watching a second (or more) time think of Tomorrowland.
If you would like to participate in this month’s IndieWeb Movie Club:
* optional: read the prequel book
* watch the film
* blog a read³ (for the book), watch⁴, review⁵, or even a simple note⁶ post of your impressions, or some or all the above and link to this post
If you want your post(s) to be included in the May 2025 IndieWeb Movie Club roundup, notify me with a Webmention⁷ from your post, or drop a link in the IndieWeb chat discussion channel⁸ and @-mention me.
Since this is an IndieWeb community activity, please both follow the Code of Conduct⁹, and also keep your post within the same rating (PG) as the movie. I may curate the roundup accordingly.
Happy reading, watching, and dreaming!

* watch the film
Since this is an IndieWeb community activity, please follow not only the Code of Conduct⁹, but also consider keeping your post within the same rating (PG) as the movie. I may curate the roundup accordingly.
Happy reading, watching, and dreaming!

Strong urge to start over from scratch with my IW site.
I didn't know about the #indieweb when I halfway built it, got inspired to finish by IW and tried to adapt but it's really a standard blog with some hastily activated plugins.
Now that I've seen many others, I would do so much different.

New Blog Post: Core Values
At my workplace we talk a lot about the Core Values they look for in employees. While their Core Values are nice and all, I have my own set of Core Values. Today I decided to write these down.
