#til that it seems like #bridgy doesn't send a #webmention for a reply that's marked as "unlisted".

I couldn't find anything 100% specific about that in their docs, but it clearly states that "Bridgy only shows and sends webmentions for fully public posts and responses".

I love the casualness of having a blog. Not sure what to write? Just write about that! https://axxuy.xyz/blog/posts/2025/indecision/

Working on a fun personal website in React, so far I have a gallery of artwork of my sona, a home page that displays my latest mastodon post/repost, and some links to cool websites. The whole thing looks like an orange sherbet with sprinkles on top. I'll probably add in a collapsable nav menu for mobile and maybe some interactive widgets to spice it up a little. What else should I put in it?

I picked Redis for my personal website storage initially because it seemed simple. Just push docs and JSON blobs in and it Just WorksTM.

Right now I'm converting to MariaDB, in case you wanna know how I feel about my original storage decision right now.

Running For Re-election in the 2025 W3C Advisory Board (AB) Election

I've stumbled upon the IndieWeb, and now I'm tempted to "indiewebfy" my online presence.

My first move should be a change in how and where I create content. For instance, instead of publishing on the Fediverse first, I should publish on my own microblog and THEN syndicate/replicate it to the Fediverse.

First post about the rabbit hole, I fell in while I attended the #eh22:

back when i first joined mastodon, one of the many surprising things i learned was that gopher had made a return to the public sphere after decades of obscurity.

i grew up with gopher and archie and veronica and many other www-alt protocols before getting hooked on the world wide web. they taught me how to hunt for things, in a time when web search didn't exist yet.

i've spent every day of the past week adding a new feature to kiki that i'm incredibly proud of, after hearing from several folks - namely @tomjennings and @scott, who (like me) are hungry for an information-dense and cruft-free internet

this works by turning your kiki pages into gopherspace pages through some formatting magic and textmunging. so now, you can host your kiki instance on both the www and in gopherspace, simultaneously.

it will be released in an upcoming version of kiki, available soon here: https://tomo-dashi.itch.io/kiki

here goes nothing; CD-Love is my cozy small allowlist-instance to try and explore some aspects of myself

certainly not new to fedi, please spare yourself tutorials on the network.

about me: i'm a... FTM guy i guess. living in the netherlands but don't come from here. for years have been holding on to a simple binary expression due to dysphoria and societal pressures. lately have done musing on things and decided my gender needs a DLC, and that i've been repressing the aspect of my life where i wanted to be an "effeminate man", or other words that are pretty much slurs that i don't want to and won't quote here. sounds harsh but little me didn't know better due to the environment i was raised in.

thus i stopped at the words bigender and androgyne. and at some point, when my body allows me to, i want to crossdress amplifying both my masculine traits and a feminine frame.

for now, that part of me remains solely online, hence also the feminine name and typically masculine pronouns and terms used.

i also do want to set an example that crossdressing is not just a fetish, it shouldn't be seen as only that and that it can be a part of someone's gender identity

outside of the musing, i sometimes draw or play on my 3DS or steam deck, although most of the time i lack the right energy to do so due to being in recovery. feel free to ask me for my pretendo friendcode! maybe we can play smash bros or mario kart.

i'm autistic, and got C-PTSD and probably some PTSD going on. that might explain some of my behaviors.

one day i should get back to making websites. i used to be somewhat active in indie web circles, but withdrew over time for mostly personal reasons.

feel free to ask me about anything regarding my interests or identity, and if you feel like following please read my bio!

Last Friday I published my second Cybersecurity Friday post with three more key steps for cybersecurity. In summary:

1. Different email address for each account, AKA email masking. Use or create a different email alias for each service you sign-up for.
2. Different password for each account. This is a well known security technique against credential stuffing attacks.
3. Use a password manager to autofill. Always using a password manager to autofill your login username (or email) and password can be a very effective method of reducing the chances of being phished.

In a bit there'll be an #IndieWeb Zoom: "Homebrew Website Club Europe/London" It's a good place to talk story about personal websites, identity online, blogging, POSSE. Might be your cup of tea, whether you're in the UK or not. https://events.indieweb.org/2025/05/homebrew-website-club-europe-london-gVJ28mnFGAUh #SmallWeb

Some fun indie/cozy-web directories:

For those whose websites:
- have a /now/ page: https://nownownow.com/

- have a /uses/ page: https://uses.tech/

- use Obsidian to publish: https://obsidian-gallery.craftengineer.com/

Are there any other directories folks have seen?

@DotheWoo I have been trying to use this for the last year it's a very strange #UX I think this alien feeling comes from it being built for the #indieweb which is a subculture of the #openweb reboot.

I keep it installed on my #WP as i feel it must be useful, but haven't found a use for it yet, the is something that I can't get my head around in its #UX

Because I always love to read these kind of posts from others, I’ve added a bookmarks page to my website. Here are the links I’ve found worth sharing these past few weeks:
