I have really enjoyed sending #IndieWeb #webmention likes (to those sites that accept them) ... and I've also liked building an old school linkblog. I'm just this guy, kicking it like Jorn Barger's site robotwisdom. But maybe the world needs Metafilters and Farks. https://artlung.com/likes/

Next week Front End Study Hall will ride again ~ number 032 ~ come explore and study and complain about and learn from and get better at HTML and CSS and related *stuff* https://events.indieweb.org/2025/07/front-end-study-hall-032-UNvJ1sfd6VGX (it's an #IndieWeb #FrontEnd #WebDev thing and all are welcome) { & hey, follow the calendar }

the index.html is a splash page now, hope you don't mind

I'm not logging in to read the rest of this post, but all of this times a million. Also thank us for the #fediverse #indieweb #opensource culture and legends that make it possible to keep interneting outside the slop circus: https://embedded.substack.com/p/stop-making-me-log-in-to-everything

Want to manually write HTML #IndieWeb notes on my #blog and get them to #Mastodon and #Bluesky with #BridgyFed but I don't know how. The documentation is overwhelming.

GeoCities neighborhoods were kinda fun.

I don't remember which one I was in, I think I had a few different GeoCities accounts.

What neighborhoods should we have? #librefm #1800www #indieweb

This started out as a reply, and ended up a ramble. But thanks for the prompt anyway @robert !

My writing process, which often starts with Obsidian notes, has come up a few times in the last few weeks. So I wrote up my writing process to publish. My vanderwal.net and Personal InfoCloud sites are relatively similar.

@tchambers@indieweb.com Suggestion box for @thisweekinIndieweb - add the #IndieWeb hashtag on those toots! Just learned about the Mastodon bot today!

šŸ“¬ Email just got shorter.

InlineStyle email addresses are now on the new domain: @inli.me
Shorter, cleaner, easier to share. Same service, same privacy-first approach.

This matches your personal website: yourname.inli.me
One identity. One place. All yours.

šŸ”ø Existing users can still use their @inlinestyle.it address — and even set up forwarding in settings.
šŸ”ø New users will get an @inli.me address by default.

We like things lean and simple šŸ–¤

So the page is the same but I copied it to another server. I’m now trying to attract crawlers to this page to check my blocking (currently not active) rules.

I'm feeling pretty accomplished. Wrangled out a new blogging platform for zero outlay. Using Hugo with GitHub to serve it up via git and GitHub actions. There's not much there right now, but it's ready. Posts to be written. Old posts to be migrated to.

@davew @timbray I think this is not so much a problem on "protocol" level (WordPress has comment RSS feeds since forever) but a lack of proper apps to support something like federated RSS.

(btw. the #indieweb movement has a lot of ideas around a social reader https://indieweb.org/reader)

I think we had a very similar discussion around the same time last year and I wrote about my ideas on my blog https://notiz.blog/2024/04/26/activitypub-the-evolution-of-rss/ (it is in german though 🫣)
