#11tyCMS is shaping up reallll good 👀 .
We now have the functional site info "pill" complete with favicon.
You'll also notice the build and publish buttons at the bottom too... The build button works beautifully, but the publish one, not yet.
Publishing is gonna take a fair amount of work, so I'm leaving that til later in the development cycle. But this is shaping up very quickly indeed. #11ty #IndieWeb

Useful report from the Social Web Foundation after a privacy forum in Norway. From the first bullet point of next actions:
Create standard metadata fields within ActivityPub to indicate content visibility, consent preferences, and sharing restrictions across servers.
There is a tension in the fediverse between consent and the open web. It’s difficult to balance both ideals without over-complicating everything. Look at how confusing private mentions in Mastodon are.

I finally got my #webmention tool to a basic usable state. It's not done just yet, but it's far enough along to actually start sending out mentions from my blog 🥳

#writers, #blog aficionados, #web enjoyers, #website browsers: lend me your ears! i need help with a big push to get the word out about #writing for GOOD INTERNET magazine's autumn issue! a digital AND physical magazine that ships all over the world, run & contributed to by volunteers! (‼️)
in case you're unaware, GOOD INTERNET covers a lot of different aspects of the #SmallWeb: unplugging from the corporate web, fighting #enshittification, migrating from data-harvesting corpo social media, creating your own personal website, using code and website-building as an art form, federation, and creating websites for fun. the aim is to be approachable for beginners and enjoyable for seasoned #indieweb travelers!
you don't have to be a professional #webdev or a #coding smartypants to write about all the good things happening on "this side" of the web. the idea here is to spread the word about and share thoughts, independent web projects, services, methods, sites, meet-ups, and celebrate the non-corporate web together while making it easier for us to partake and unplug from #bigtech.
📏 looking for 1,000- to 4,000-word articles aimed at website owners and hobbyists, digital (and traditional) #artists, #internet culture enthusiasts, #technology nerds, #socialmedia expatriates, & anyone who wants to unplug from the corporate-owned #web.

#web
Web...
#http, #corporations, #evilness
Small Web: #smol
#indieweb: https://indieweb.org
#web0: https://small-tech.org
Maybe we should go back to using plain text everywhere over http...
The point I'm making is that there's all these "initiatives", like those I've listed above, all trying to compete for tjhe 0.0.1% of people who might think the same, but there's no cohesion to any of it.
Which I think is the thing which is missing...

I have really enjoyed sending #IndieWeb #webmention likes (to those sites that accept them) ... and I've also liked building an old school linkblog. I'm just this guy, kicking it like Jorn Barger's site robotwisdom. But maybe the world needs Metafilters and Farks. https://artlung.com/likes/

I first went to GitHub and created a new public repository called \u201cmanton.org\u201d. It can be called anything. The new version does still depend on GitHub for signing in, but most of the plumbing has been rewritten with standard Git commands, meaning we can adapt it for other services like GitLab or Codeberg in the future.
