Well. It only took 3 posts into #blaugust before things got a little morbid.

I've partnered with Sean Crisden to provide his backstage pass folks with audio recordings of my blog posts! This is how he's able to financially narrate these posts, so pick a slot, and subscribe! The first will be a Sensual Exploration of Chocolate, and then an introduction to my work, so check out https://seancrisden.com/pages/backstage-pass #Audible #Audio #Audiobook #Audiobook #Blog #Blogs #IndieWeb
Anyone here into both #indieweb and #indiedev ?
I could use some company/accountability in making sure some of my games that are only hosted on itch.io are also playable from my personal site.
And still need to create separate category feeds for TTRPGs and gamedev and personal things. And blog. And aaagh.
Congratulations to all the #TinyAwards nominees!

Usually my posts are pretty off the cuff. It actually feels kind of weird having things pre written like this.

"May 2025 IndieWeb Carnival Roundup"
About Small Web communities:
"I think of them as places where the feeling of knowing someone is ubiquitous. Maybe I’m romanticizing, but I imagine that interacting in a small web community feels like going for a walk through the neighborhood where you lived for many years: you meet people you haven’t seen for quite a while, see others that you never talked to but know for a long time, and meet some new people who just moved there or are just visiting. There is a feeling of being home, and this is what I also want for my online experience."
"So where do we go now? How do we find people with similar interests in 2025. How do we rebuild small web communities and find each other? Where do the weird, socially awkward teens with highly niche interests go? They probably need this more than me. We need to build something for ourselves, it has started. Blogging is back (it never went away for some), webrings too."

Ghost 6.0 has been released, adding ActivityPub. Big update. It’s interesting how Ghost now talks about Bluesky compatibility, which works via Bridgy Fed, but they don’t mention Bridgy Fed. This feels slightly wrong to me since I’ve spent so much time working on AT Protocol.
So happy to announce this partnership! I've partnered with Sean Crisden to provide his backstage pass folks with audio recordings of my blog posts! Especially if you're an #indieWeb supporter, you should consider this feature *essential*, as it's what gives you the ability e.g. to make your #RSS feeds nicely formatted even on browsers that have removed built-in support for them (i.e. basically anything except for #VivaldiBrowser).
Of course, it can be used for more than that. I wrote about this (in Italian) on my website a couple of years ago
"The small web is comprised of people, from all walks of life, all races, abilities, genders, orientations, and more.
This corner of the web, though, is where I hang out. I don't visit mainstream websites anymore unless the particular person just can't leave their tech silo, but I stay in the small web. I live the niche web. I champion the good web, because it's one of the best examples of what the web could have become years ago. It didn't, so the good web has been sidelined in favor of endless slop.
(...)
What you'll find in the small web is the communities. These communities continue to build the internet every day. These communities build bridges, introduce people to one another, gather people together to share art and stories, and look out for each other."

I'm glad to hear Google found some hard disk space to keep all those URLs.
Sad I had to delete all my Google Drive files to free up space for them, but I'm sure I can remember some of my old documents and spreadsheets if I try hard enough.

Chucked out some quick thoughts about measuring our achievement by what it took for us, not in comparison to others. Maybe somebody will appreciate.
