I am consistently impressed by @ribose 's website, but this entry is downright marvelous. But the question does remain: Is this a post?

Local Hero (IndieWeb Movie Club)

When I watch Local Hero, I am reminded of how much I love home. Indeed, the movie is a story of someone falling in love with Scotland.

Also a microformats/semantic HTML question: is there a good accessibility argument for using microformats or other semantic markup for locations specifically?

I ask because I've soured a bit on structured data now that it feels like I'm just making it easier to slurp up my page for AI training.

I like the idea of making things richer and easier to use for humans, but apart from using microformats to add data to webmentions, I'm starting to consider paring back on how much I use them.

I added a “location” section for my /notes posts — previously I just had that on the “statuslog” section on my /now page, which I haven't ended up using very much:

New blog post: Problems with the Online Safety Act: a letter to my MP

This is apparently my life now. I've updated the article AGAIN

https://wok.oblomov.eu/tecnologia/google-killing-open-web/

Added a mention #ManifestV3 and how it might (now or a future change) affect the development of extensions to compensate for the removal of native support for #XSLT .

And since I've apparently hit the news, I've prepared three canned responses for the most frequent objections. In particular, if you're OK with this change because “XML sucks”, YOU ARE #MissingThePoint

Is anyone using #webmentions with their #11ty or static site generator? I'm curious how you found the implementation. I'm really cautious about introducing more complexity to my workflow so I really want to ensure I understand how it works, fundamentally.

I've been working on my blog again, working on joining a webring of hackers I highly admire which hopefully will motivate me even more to be active in #indieweb

Been toying with a portal, nicknamed Orsus, for people to share their notes stored on caldav servers. This would make it possible for people to have a personal wiki published on the web without dealing with hosting.

The idea is that people share the calendar subscription link to orsus and it will render a personal wiki/garden + RSS feed.

iCal supports most stuff you'd expect from a personal wiki like note linking and tags.

This is kind of like a poor man's version of #SolidProject where the datapod is your caldav server.

Is it possible to have typed #WebMentions in the source document?
Would #RDFa be a good idea here?
