Been a while since I did an #introduction, so:

I'm an ancient/medieval historian who mostly posts #Travelphotography, art/artifacts, and pics of our 6 cats & foster kittens. Grew up in New Mexico; my spouse & I live in #Kentucky and are striving to live a more #degrowth lifestyle - #gardening, #composting & cursing cars.

I'm also a freelance editor: https://kentnavalesi.neocities.org/EditingServices. Obviously still learning HTML but having fun building a presence on the #indieweb. I hope you do too!

Of course my first linky love to my new blog has to come from Joe whom I knew from the good ol' blogging days back in the early 2000's. I rediscovered his web of wonderful web things while browsing the #IndieWeb recently and was happy to see that he was also on Mastodon. Didn't expect him to still remember me, but he did! If you love browsing the #IndieWeb as much as I do, his account is worth a follow for all the linky loves.

Would love to be a part of one.

If you haven't updated your /now/ page in awhile, now is is a good time to do so.

And if you haven't added it to the /now/ web directory, might as well do that too:

I just got an email from the guy[0] who invented the /now/ page asking me to:

1) Log in and update my site info in the /now/ directory[1]

2) Help verify / validate the date that other people's /now/ pages were last updated

Next session of #IndieWeb Club #Bangalore is in two days: https://indiewebclubblr.github.io/website/#upcoming-event.

This will be a tech and design focused session. During the session, we’ll co-work on our personal websites, try new designs, squash bugs, or just do some long-neglected digital housekeeping.

If you don’t have any programming experience, don’t worry! We’ll help you with any technical questions you might have about running your personal website or participating on the IndieWeb. If possible, we’ll pair you up with a buddy who can help you out with any technical issues you might be running into.

Get your tickets now!

I made a LOT of changes to my website today! That's why I've been so quiet :'3

You can see every change in the new changelog, which includes all updates to the site arranged by date (latest to oldest).

Enjoy! Feedback welcome!

Help me, #lazyweb #indieweb folks: is there an RSS reader that can load the full site by default instead of the feed content? The people I tend to follow have cool websites and I want to see them without having to load everything from the reader into a browser (because lazy.) It also helps me a bit to associate a writer's voice to see it in their site.

Bonus points for free, FOSS, and all that good stuff.

Following @timotheegoguely’s dedication (albeit more lazily…) I played around with #weirdweboctober and @octothorpes protocol.

I need to start on my "how to website" guides but here's a quick tip I posted on my website a little while back https://cass-iter-ite.com/websites/head.php #indieweb

Why can’t i throw away my old #notebooks? This month #IndieWeb carnival, hosted by @bixfrankonis, was the perfect time to answer the question.

the members-only pre-order event starts tomorrow!!! for good internet magazine's autumn 2025 issue! it's not too late--you have 6 hours to become a member, support the magazine, and get access to free shipping on issue pre-orders! <3

the members event runs until october 18th, after which pre-orders will open to the public (with shipping fees)! you can join as a free member and get notified when that happens. :)

pre-ordering the magazine helps us with our upfront printing costs, which is hundreds of dollars per run. it's sooo crucial to making sure i don't go into debt for printing these magazines! <3

thank you for your support! i'll see you soon to announce the public pre-orders for the autumn issue!!!

(unsure what good internet magazine IS?! if you're interested in personal websites or taking the corporate shilling out of the web, check the link below and remember when the internet used to be fun!)
