There's a lot of great links (as always), and I have everyone below to thank! Those mentioned below have made this week's writeup as fun and unique as ever.

I'm witnessing more and more people around me starting to publish their thoughts on the web, which is a great start. But, sadly, they tend to go for the low-hanging fruit of social media silos. IG, LinkedIn, Bluesky.
Please consider Publishing (on your) Own Site, Syndicating Elsewhere:
I'm using #Miniflux as my feed reader and today I found the setting "Read articles by opening external links". While I also do appreciate the plain reading view that Miniflux offers, it's even better to read a post on the website itself â as I follow mostly personal blogs, they often have unique and beautiful designs.
Here are some great websites to add to your feed reader on this #FollowFriday
- https://robertbirming.com/ a home inspector from Sweden, who takes us along on his daily adventures through writing and reflection
- https://aethermug.com/ inspiring essays about how we think, the influence of language on that process and more
- https://vhbelvadi.com/ a scientist who writes deeply thoughtful posts on a wide range of topics, on a beautifully designed website
Looking for more inspiration? I couldn't list all of my favourites here. Browse through my bookmarks for more: https://kedara.eu/bookmarks
If you have discovered a great website to follow recently, I'd love to hear about it as well.

Bo ha haa, palasin perusteisiin, eli kotisivun ja blogin yllÀpitoon html-koodin naputtelulla ja ftp-tiedostosiirroilla. Ihanaa.
Wordpress sai lÀhteÀ blogista ja CSS kotisivuilta. On siellÀ yksi txt-tiedostokin.
Kunnon kotisivu, tai ainakin oma đ
This is a test. Pay no attention.

Hi Fediverse friends,
The new update to powRSS is almost ready!
Here is a preview of Shuffle Mode coming later this month. Browse posts regardless of publishing date and find blogs going all the way back to 1995!
It's a great way to discover new writers and new voices even if they haven't published recently. And that's one of the key aspects of writing for the #indieweb that matters most. We strive for quality, not urgency.
I can't wait to see what you discover.

Having fun testing out a new Shuffle mode on @powRSS coming soon.
Shuffle mode shows you posts from all feeds regardless of publishing time.
This has led me to find fun articles written all the way back in 1995!!

Been a while since I did an #introduction, so:
I'm an ancient/medieval historian who mostly posts #Travelphotography, art/artifacts, and pics of our 6 cats & foster kittens. Grew up in New Mexico; my spouse & I live in #Kentucky and are striving to live a more #degrowth lifestyle - #gardening, #composting & cursing cars.
I'm also a freelance editor: https://kentnavalesi.neocities.org/EditingServices. Obviously still learning HTML but having fun building a presence on the #indieweb. I hope you do too!

Of course my first linky love to my new blog has to come from Joe whom I knew from the good ol' blogging days back in the early 2000's. I rediscovered his web of wonderful web things while browsing the #IndieWeb recently and was happy to see that he was also on Mastodon. Didn't expect him to still remember me, but he did! If you love browsing the #IndieWeb as much as I do, his account is worth a follow for all the linky loves.

Any Data Science/Analytics or IndieWeb community based out of Hyderabad?
Would love to be a part of one.
If you haven't updated your /now/ page in awhile, now is is a good time to do so.
And if you haven't added it to the /now/ web directory, might as well do that too:
I just got an email from the guy[0] who invented the /now/ page asking me to:
1) Log in and update my site info in the /now/ directory[1]
2) Help verify / validate the date that other people's /now/ pages were last updated
Next session of #IndieWeb Club #Bangalore is in two days: https://indiewebclubblr.github.io/website/#upcoming-event.
This will be a tech and design focused session. During the session, weâll co-work on our personal websites, try new designs, squash bugs, or just do some long-neglected digital housekeeping.
If you donât have any programming experience, donât worry! Weâll help you with any technical questions you might have about running your personal website or participating on the IndieWeb. If possible, weâll pair you up with a buddy who can help you out with any technical issues you might be running into.
Get your tickets now!
I made a LOT of changes to my website today! That's why I've been so quiet :'3
You can see every change in the new changelog, which includes all updates to the site arranged by date (latest to oldest).
Enjoy! Feedback welcome!

Help me, #lazyweb #indieweb folks: is there an RSS reader that can load the full site by default instead of the feed content? The people I tend to follow have cool websites and I want to see them without having to load everything from the reader into a browser (because lazy.) It also helps me a bit to associate a writer's voice to see it in their site.
Bonus points for free, FOSS, and all that good stuff.
Following @timotheegoguelyâs dedication (albeit more lazilyâŠ) I played around with #weirdweboctober and @octothorpes protocol.
