Better tech won’t make joining the indieweb easier, but collectives could https://www.thisdaysportion.com/posts/collectives-not-more-tech/ #IndieWeb #Blog #Blogging
I launched my personal site 20 years ago. I don't know the exact date but I know that it happened the last week of October. #IndieWeb
This update from Worm Blossom is SO CUTE! Comics, a little midi music, and shoutouts, plus great technical transparency on the project itself

I had a major screen time setback yesterday and squandered almost my entire day on Reddit. Here's a short blog post about how I'm planning on dealing with this sort of problem going forward: https://stephvee.ca/blog/digital%20minimalism/moving-on-after-a-screentime-setback/

I made a colophon page for my website! It is maybe a little premature because it's still in the early stages, but I don't care, I had fun!
Very tempted to take up another analog habit:

I keep having fun with #WeirdWebOctober. Most fun and silly and exploratory month for my #CSS #HTML & #JavaScript skills since I had a crazy boss who had me include java applets, flash movies, css, and sliced up photoshop designs into big Netscape <framesets>. https://artlung.com/weird-web-october/ It also feels very #IndieWeb to me to make web pages for fun.
"The beauty of a personal website, however, is that while they may seem to be "old school", they haven't died - not if we don't let them. There's nothing stopping us from making a website for ourselves, even if it gets little to no traffic. There's nothing stopping me from doing this just because I love it, carving out a corner on the internet, and planting a flag in it, declaring it as my own. You can leave or you can stay. But it's still going to be mine."
A manifesto of sorts; or, my love letter to the personal website https://aroceu.com/manifesto
Alongside my own efforts to build a personal digital music library, I've been enjoying @endonend's Crucial Tracks project. Using it to create a journal and discover what others share has been fruitful. Hopefully a practice I can maintain. Sharing my latest entry here as it intersects with my professional interests and feelings about the ongoing goings-on in my particular line of work. If you're into music, I highly recommend giving it a go.
