Just came across this historian's hobby site that is interesting, informative, and maybe the kind of thing I'll do with my site someday.

with the recent #outage of #aws and #azure i kinda wanna look into making my own #webring or web directory of some kind.
webrings usually have some kinda theme, so mine would be truly indie hosted sites. that is, sites NOT hosted by the top 5 web hosts.
so for a site to qualify, it cannot be hosted on huge platforms like aws, cloudflare, azure, google cloud, maybe more.
the website would not have to be hosted out of your house to qualify but it absolutely could.
🎃 Night before IndieWebCamp Berlin! Participants are (hopefully, mostly) all tucked into their beds, dreaming of what wonderful things they can brainstorm for their personal sites Saturday, and #HackTheirPlanet on Sunday.
Want to keep up with #IndieWebCamp #Berlin participants?
Follow their feeds and a Bluesky starter pack (happy to include more for any other formats, protocols, or platforms)

Happy Halloween, Mastodon! 👻 My monthly recap is up on my website: https://stephvee.ca/blog/rewinds/rewind-oct-2025/
I unfortunately didn't have a chance to write all the horror-related blog posts I'd planned to write this month, but I *did* get through a creepy novel (mentioned in the recap) that's worth checking out.
New blog post up. About how you can have a little randomized music discovery while keeping everything local.

This expands and elaborates somewhat on my Fedi post from a few days ago at https://social.mkj.earth/web/@mkj/115453184719526783

As I have some spare time this weekend, I'm hoping to spend some time following @gobino (https://social.lol/@gobino) tutorial to get webmentions up and running on my Bear Blog. If the end result looks anywhere near as good, I'll be happy.

I really like personal homepages and have quite a list of them bookmarked. I'll post one every week unless I fall behind this schedule. 😉 So here's Cool Personal Homepages #CPHP Vol. 50: "crusom.dev" https://crusom.dev/
PS: @crusom is on the fediverse!

Added the ability “sign out" of your site, bringing you to the site selector. It works SO well.
I’m so glad I did the refactoring, it feels so much more stable now. AND it’s enabled me to add all these new features effortlessly. The sky’s the limit, this is the power of mindfully written code!
I think we have everything we need to implement the site dashboard view. Then, after sorting the publishing stuff and some design polish, it’ll be ready for an alpha release. #11tyCMS #11ty #indieweb
Here's a little end-of-the-month post with some reflections on things I watched, read, listened to and enjoyed.
Hope everyone has a great Halloween/Samhain!
