Before I forget about it, here's my October Blogposts:
About the 12inch Macbook, still one of the smallest and lightest laptops in the 11-13inch range: https://blog.not-outdated.com/entries/12inchMacbook.html
Vienna's Public Libraries and services (tldr - use your local library!): https://blog.not-outdated.com/entries/vienna-libraries.html -there's not a lot of official information in English, so most links are in German
Affinity – my favourite one-time purchase graphic design software – just went "freemium." I have some VERY mixed thoughts on this development... https://stephvee.ca/blog/tools/et-tu-affinity/

New on the blog: The one where I list a couple of things I'd sell if I had a shop.
It's a reply to @noellemitchell@mstdn.social's post about the same topic.

I'm not looking for viral wisdom.
I lose interest when I find a pitch or a sermon or a buzz phrase in their writings.
I value slow words, honest tone, no agenda.
No “shoulds,” no marketing glow.
I'd like to read just items by people observing, thinking, writing quietly.

A little trip report from the beautiful city of Liège (Belgium) and other things from this week. #blogging #weeknotes #indieweb
I heard a rumor that I did some stuff last month.

Tired of viral noise.
I want to find quality information myself:
– Slow reading, not trending.
– Small blogs over big media.
– Observation before opinion.
– Quiet thinkers, not influencers.
– Tools that help me see clearly.

My idea-notebook blog:
- Write to capture, not to perform.
- Raw thoughts, small experiments, quiet notes.
- Re-read after days — meaning ferments.
- Link ideas by, not only tags, but also context.
- Keep it lo-fi, human, unfinished.
- Value resonance over reach.
- Leave traces of thinking, not conclusions.
- A blog as a living notebook — slow, thoughtful, real.

I've been working with software and writing code for the last eight years. Nevertheless, I came to a sad realization a couple of weeks ago: I can't type properly.
Yep, that's it. I suck at it. I'm always looking at the keyboard because I forget where the keys are. But finally I had enough. I decided to learn how to type properly, with all my fingers, with good ergonomics, and more importantly, without looking.
Though I managed to get Webmentions displaying on my bearblog site pretty quickly last night, my attempts to send webmentions manually or programmatically through webmention.app and echofeed.app have failed, and I do not see brid.gy sending anything out. Can anybody shed any light on whether this is possible and how best to get it working?
Day 1/100 of my 100 day blogging challenge is for IndieWeb Movie Club for October (oops 1 day late) https://crystaltouchton.com/hackers/

"What many people forget is that 'the web' and 'social media' are two different things. Social media sits on top of the web. It's a middle man. Social media needs the web, but the web does not need social media."
