In the 1990s, the web felt hand-made and diverse —
a place where people shared raw thoughts,
not personal brands or business or platform bias.
Maybe it’s time to rediscover that slower, smaller web again.
To seek essential, thoughtful information —
not the viral noise of likes, rankings, or social feeds.

Another blog post on its way! This one will be a big one: major refactoring, better state management, site history, site dashboard AND the ability to set and change your build and publish commands _per site_. The alpha release is so close 👀 #11tyCMS #11ty #indieweb

I recently learned about Digital Gardens, and this is today's post for my 100 day blog posting challenge. https://crystaltouchton.com/bloomingdigitalgarden/ #indieweb #digitalgarden #blog #blogging #notetaking #ideas #collecting #100days #100dayblogchallenge #blogchallenge

The Odd Technical Battle Within the AI Browser Explosion

The Browser Company made some interesting claims about not being able to get the performance needed out of SwiftUI for Dia, but Atlas went all in on it

A bit of a curve-ball contribution to this month’s IndieWeb Carnival theme ‘Cycles and fluctuations’ hosted by Alex Sirac.

Sometimes I wish could just write about unicorns and rainbows.

“ Marginalia is a free and open-source, collaborative article annotation and publishing platform. ”

The text splitting off kind of drives me crazy but I like the concept

I prototyped a connection between @pixelfed and my website for this weekend’s #indieweb event in Berlin, and this was the picture I took of my little guy during the live demo.

My workstation setup for participating in #IndieWeb in Berlin this weekend.

My first #WeekNotes is out on #BurgeonLab

My first foray into the world of #weeknote writing... Not sure if anyone will read them or if they're interesting enough; but it's nice to try new routines and be out of your comfort zone, right?

I'm definitely going to iterate through different structure/formats for writing these, as I try to read more from other #weeklynote veterans.

Recs or feedback are welcome!

The site dashboard is now mostly functional! You can edit your websites metadata file in the `_data` folder. Next I need to sort build and publish options... Honestly? Once those are sorted, #11tyCMS is so close to being ready for alpha launch.

However, this has thrown up an issue: It always assumes `_data` files are of `.json` format. For those of you who have sites that use `.js` files… That’s a trickier nut to crack. Going to need to do some more thinking for that. #11ty #indieweb

Quand on parle de visibilité avec un site ou sur les #RéseauSociaux ce qui doit prévaloir à mes yeux ce sont des liens et des contenus de qualité #activitypub #indieweb

And just like that, @thedigitalrenaissance has had over 250 unique visitors this month!

I don't put tracking params in the links I post so for the most part I don't have a whole lot of insight outside of how many people are on the site and what posts get read

Affinity – my favourite one-time purchase graphic design software – just went "freemium." I have some VERY mixed thoughts on this development... https://stephvee.ca/blog/tools/et-tu-affinity/

New on the blog: The one where I list a couple of things I'd sell if I had a shop.
It's a reply to

I'm not looking for viral wisdom.

I lose interest when I find a pitch or a sermon or a buzz phrase in their writings.

I value slow words, honest tone, no agenda.

No “shoulds,” no marketing glow.

I'd like to read just items by people observing, thinking, writing quietly.
